The boos didn't have to happen. If only Mr. Brokaw had said something sensitive and endearing to the Oklahoma fans to win them over, such as..."I came here to see me a football game"

I think he received louder boos then when Nebraska came out, and even more than the penalty we got for fans throwing oranges onto the field near the end of the game.

HAHAHAHA ... GOOD!

Congratulations Sooners!!!

I wish he would have been at one of the Alabama games because I would have enjoyed booing him too.

By the way, we're counting on you guys to win out. We cannot imagine a school like Auburn playing for a national championship.

Roll Tide and Go Sooners!!!!

Have no idea how he had the nerve to return to OU after his debacle of a speech for graduation last May. I think he received louder boos then when Nebraska came out, and even more than the penalty we got for fans throwing oranges onto the field near the end of the game.

What a great story. Thanks for sharing it because you are so right, we never would have heard it but for FR and good Freepers. We sure like good Bushie stories in OH.

Hahaha! You won't read this in the lamestream! In most of America, guys like Brokaw, Rather and Jennings have the status of unwelcome foreign visitors.

HA! I wish those primadonas would venture out into God's country more often, they'd find out just how unpopular they are with the real people.

They have so many falling on their knees in their own little enclaves that they actually believe they're somebody.

One has to wonder at what kind of a group would care if Brokaw was in attendance. Easily impressionable people most likely.

"I think he received louder boos then when Nebraska came out..."

I would hope so. Generally speaking, the Cornshuckers are respectable people. The OU/NU rivalry was one of the biggest games of late November until the Big 12 was formed, and wouldn't allow the two teams to schedule "non-conference" games during the two off years in north/south division play.

Brokaw, on the other hand, is maybe the most palatable of the three alphabet anchors, which isn't saying much...

In my opinion, AU shouldn't be able to play for the NC while on probation. The entire school is on scholastic probation.

kewl!

10 years ago i threw my tv in the dumpster after i saw how phony the 4 major networks (abccbscnnnbc) treated presidents bush senior and clinton:

peter jennings said, while george senior was golfing, "why isn't he doing the people's work"?

meanwhile, enter president clinton. he went golfing frequently but was never asked by jennings why he wasn't "doing the people's work".

the term itself is socialist.

Good for the Sooners.

May the left wing progressive Brokaw receive boos across America.
