Statistical analyses of relationships between SAT scores, Republican Party affiliation, spending on education, ethnic compositions of towns, and tax rates reveal that among those factors (that is, excluding financial components) the ones that matter most in driving comparative and competitive home sales prices (by town medians over time, and over the long-run) are those related to CULTURE -- SAT scores and Republican Party affiliation (and all the value choices that such affiliation incorporates). You may have had a gut feeling that it pays to own a home in a town with high SAT scores and strong republican values. Now here's the statistical proof -- from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, no less.

Check out the web site for a few charts you can click onto to expand, and they will reveal a fascinating chart showing a high degree of correlation between performance on SATs and % of the town affiliating with the Republican Party. The smarter towns are more republican -- in Massachusetts.

I could never understand the Democrat meme that Republicans are a bunch of idiot hicks, but at the same time we are the corporate CEOs and millionaires who enjoy all the tax breaks.

Because their contention, such as it is, is that republicans are made up of two distinct groups. The first group is the cliche of the big business, country club, CEO Republican whose concerns are in the secular world of less regulation, tax relief and oter monetary issues. The second group is the low-income, "values based" Republican who fears and hates the urban, hyper-educated post-modern, secular world.

Republicans are good neighbors and smart people. No surprise there that they would create a desirable town to live in.

I always saw this as a function of the egocentric nature of your average lefty. They see the world as being about them. Anyone who disagrees must be either stupid or evil. That is why most people who can still be friendly with those with whom they disagree are on the right.

The Democrats' invectives don't have to make sense. Their sociopathic leaders know this. The rank and file Democrats are to stupid to question what their leaders tell them to think.
