I'll give you my calamari ration for your red meat ration.

Perhaps I've just not had calamari prepared well, but eating something with all the flavor and texture of rubber bands just isn't my thing.

With warmer climates, less likely to be a bummer stationed in Iceland or Alaska

I don't know about Alaska, but considering what the women look like in Iceland, no single young man would consider that to be a hardship posting.

OK, you've done it now. I'm calling the Italian restaurant by my office and ordering takeout.

The problem ain't the women of Iceland. There are some lookers to be sure. It's the quantity and availability. Makes you yearn for the toothless alaskan eskimo girls after awhile.

I like the chewy texture myself, but I was brought up near a coastal town so eating sea critters is up my alley. No trading though, the calamari is the appetizer and the beef tenderloin is the main course!

don't dolphins like squid? i guess we are headed to more dolphins. and if krill increases, our whale population will increase! therefore, save the whales by burning a tree in your fireplace.

Lol, somewhere out there is a PETA who's freaking out that the scientist from the National Center for Squid Research thinks that calamari "tastes great".

There is this really amazing recipe for breaded, seasoned, fried squid rings that I can't remember the name of. You find it in a lot of Chinese restaurant. Very tasty.

'Calimari' are for dilletants. Give me a half-pound squid 'steak' everytime.

After the sea otter became protected, Kalifornistan's abalone all but disappeared. Certainly 'legal' sized ones disappeared. So I learned to fix and eat squid steaks as a fine replacement for abalone.

My last abalone dinner at Original Joe's on First Street in San Jose was a half-pound dinner for $28. That was many years before I bought a new heavily optioned 911E for $13K. $28 was big money!
