Whoa. I know "spooks" is a term for spies/CIA types, but in this case, this just seems like an astoundingly ill-advised use of slang.
If they are indeed talking about Powell and Rice, neither of which are spies, then someone's head needs to roll at CNN.

"Spooks" is a common term for spies - so the CNN headline was likely referring to the turmoil within the CIA.

IF this is true, it is MONUMENTALLY STUPID on CNN's part. But, alas, I expect no repercussions for CNN. Now if Fox did something similar, you'd never hear the end of it in the lamestream press......

CNN has basicly come unglued along with the NY Times and about 80% of those who voted for Senator Surrender and Boy Wonder.
Did you stay tuned in to see if they actually did run a "spook" story? If it wasn't about spies/CIA, then obviously this was on purpose. Even if a CIA story did follow, it probably still was on purpose by some a-hole, but they'd have their CYA excuse.

Just more leftist racism...Did you hear the clip on Shumer? He called Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, "Judge Tom"....a derogatory term....likening him to "uncle Tom"....
It wasn't a mistake either. Shumer ran through Thomas's title and then slipped in the slur. He said, "Justice Clarence Thomas, Uh, judge Thomas, Judge Tom..."
It is also a racial slur...and in this case it is what that means

You're probably right. But this is the network that misspelled Niger Innis' name in their caption a few years back.
In Texas in the 50's and 60's and in New York in the early 60's every time I heard the term spook it was a black referring to a white. Spook - ghost - white .....

PS-Anyone else see the little redirect when you go to CNN.com? I saw a mostly blank/white page with the text "Hello, World. Nothing to see here...move along" load for like a second before redirecting to CNN.com.
Seriously. I clicked on the CNN.com link from a Yahoo keyword search result page.
Weird.
PPS-I was able to time a screen capture just right. The URL is http://victory.cnn.com. Guess the URL that shows up in Yahoo's search is a bad link and the page I saw is just an auto redirect to whatever is currently the index.html page.

Someone at least coordinated the snafu. I don't see it as an accident. Fox would be crucified. (if it is more than rumor) I'll bet Brent Bozell has it taped.
