Boca Shrinks Have Knickers in a Knot over Rush's "mockery" of KerryLosermen's Mental Depression
The Boca Raton News, via Drudge Report ^ | November 16, 2004 | Sean Salai

Mental health officials in South Florida blasted Rush Limbaugh on Monday, saying the conservative talk show host’s offer of “free therapy” for traumatized John Kerry voters has made a mockery of a valid psychological problem. “Rush Limbaugh has a way of back-handedly slamming people,” said Sheila Cooperman, a licensed clinician with the American Health Association (AHA) who listened Friday as Limbaugh offered to personally treat her patients. “He’s trying to ridicule the emotional state this presidential election produced in many of us here in Palm Beach County. Who is he to offer therapy?”

Sorry if already posted, but Rush gives better advice on his three-hour show than all these sniveling whining psychobabblers on the left could dish out in a lifetime.

My parents live in Boca, aka Scarsdale (NY) South. I'll have to ask my mother (who's a family therapist) if she's had any issues with the countless blue people in the Blue city of Boca Raton.

How much fun could you have if you were a conservative shrink (there must be one somewhere) and your 4 o'clock turned out to be some overfed aging trustafarian whiner, having palpitations and hallucinations because Bush was reelected?

I'd have so much fun, I'd probably lose my license for professional abuse.

“Rush Limbaugh has no clinical qualifications to counsel anyone,”

I just have to laugh at this. Hard. Then perhaps he might cure them? Rather than listen to their narcissistic rants for as long as the money doesn't run out? What a hoot! Bring back Bob Newhart!

I am reminded of a cartoon which makes the rounds in psychotheraputic circles: the caption is "Brief Psychotherapy"; the analyst slaps the client saying "Get over it!"

I think all the PESTilential demonRATs could use a course of Beck's Rational Emotive Therapy (not Glenn): a technique in which the therapist harangues the client with facts to discard irrational beliefs which are the basis of his or her misery.

People who don't listen to Rush may miss the sarcasm in his comments, especially if they appear in print.

That's because Rush speaks the truth, which always sets one free (provided they're willing to receive it). The psychobabblers have a vested interest in keeping clients "sick" and returning for $200 an hour sessions.

From someone who lives in the heart of demrat country - Palm Beach County - this is so assinine. Even the Mayor of Boca Raton, who is, thankfully, a Republican, said that he is not surprised about this junk psychology taking off in an area where people think mothing of spending thousands on plastic surgery and golf lessons.

I guess I should be thankful I'm a poor, working stiff and not a pampered rich b*tch.

Why do we need Rush when we have people like Sheila Cooperman that ae so self-unaware that they can unintentionally and very funnily mock themselves?

And this woman is a THERAPIST? Good grief!

the emotional state this presidential election produced in many of us...

Over-association with a client is generally considered a reason to refer a patient elsewhere is it not?

They should be made sport of. It should broadcast a clear message to those slightly snobbish 'swing voters' as to whom they may be casting their lot with - a bunch of basket cases who would destroy the Republic for their own personal warm-and-fuzzy sense of security.

But he said he also received a small batch of letters and e-mails from people who said they understood why some Kerry voters would need therapy.

You just can't make this stuff up, folks. Maybe we could get them to define liberalism as a disorder in the next DSM...

Is there even an AHA? Nothing came up in my searches. There are similarly named associations, but none exactly. Maybe my search engines are running out of power?

How could anybody suggest that the red staters are mentally healthier or that the blue staters are disordered?

Calling Mo Dowd

Rush had a caller today that made a good point.

Liberals, he asserted, don't know how to lose.

It's like the Little League where they don't keep score. Or the Dodge ball thing where you couldn't hit the other guy with the ball. Or not correcting children's papers with red ink. Purple is more soothing whereas red is associated with losing.

This election lays such truth to that. Now I hear they're recounting in Ohio.

There is no such thing as a 'win' in their world. Their thinking is that we must 'negotiate' this win to an end acceptable to both of us.

I'm serious. That's how they think.

Speaking of Mo....I hated to do it to the woman, but I cut a swath through her verbiage in my last Blog that I simply must, with all due modesty, share it with you.

Warning: I'm tough on her. ;)

made a mockery of a valid psychological problem

of course it is - you liberal POS couldn't continually be poor little victims if you didn't have a continual stream of valid psychological problems - besides the genetic one you were born with.

“He’s trying to ridicule the emotional state this presidential election produced in many of us here in Palm Beach County. Who is he to offer therapy?”

uh, excuse me dr. b*tch, who are you to offer therapy? From your quote, this same emotional state has somehow infected your brain also since you most certainly must be included in "us". Typical of the libs, the sickos wanting to treat the sickos, the blind leading the blind, the victims enabling other victims. I would love to see a survey on the percentage of liberals that seek "professional help" vs. conservatives - I would bet 4 to 1 minimum.

LOL! You nailed it. I ran into a typical palm beach -delray beach resident the other day. Walking into a Home Depot, I witnessed a LARGE LONG car with a senior citizen pulling out of his parking spot only to slam into the car parked next to him while he was swinging around to drive out. I saw his Kerry sticker. Well...another man yelled at him that he has to stop and tell the owner (it was a nice new Lexus he hit)....well..the typical Kerry supporting palm beach county senior citizen kept driving away. I ran and got his plate (it had a pic of a wheelchair on it), and me and the other guy left the Lexus a note.
Those are the typical Kerry supporters. They are rotten people.

Well, if they just put more effort into thinking they wouldn't have to "feel" so badly. Rush could help them learn to think. The therapists will probably just tell them that their "feelings" are valid.

Oh nooooo! Now the psychotherapists need psychotherapy to deal with their Rush trauma.

They really aren't setting a good example for their patients by publicly demonstrating the kind of behavior that their patients want to rid themselves of.

Yeah. He started chuckling in that manner he has, an indulgent slow chuckle. Then he told the caller he had a point.

So I got to thinking about it and it sure seems to fit. What a waste of money that thing is in Ohio. Money that could buy some poor family their own home. And I can smell that money given to the Libertarian candidates to request a re-run came from Soros et al.

Since we won't "negotiate" the win with them all fair and square like they see it, they're going to pester and scratch until they get what's rightfully their's.

It's like that Reid guy coming out today declaring he'd prefer to dance but can fight if he has to.

Who the hell does he think he is? And he's going to fight for exactly what? Just what is the cause of his fight, to get the Dem way no matter who won?

They also cheat, witness their filibuster tactics. Cheating is fair when going after what is rightfully theirs.

It's a skewed view of the world but it's the sort of thing churned out by the public schools. Thus we must deal with it.
