One of the many reasons im trying to quit smoking

Good luck with that. I'm not a smoker but my boyfriend is and I am trying to get him to stop. I realize how hard it is.

I made a promise to my father on Father's Day this year that I'd never take another puff off of a cigarette. Shortly after quitting, there were strong urges, but thinking of that promise to my Dad was always enough to stop me. It's been six months and there are no cravings.

Maybe your boyfriend can try something like that to help him quit. It took something as strong as the love of a son for his father for me to stop. It's one hell of an addiction.....

how hard it is to quit Make no mistake it is hard to quit. Damn Hard. I smoked a pack or two a day for over forty years. Managed to quit a dozen years ago. And don't miss it at all. As I read Chip's final letter I had to swallow real hard before I could start a prayer for him. I am reminded of how very lucky I was to have had two teenage daughters who hounded me relentlessly to give up "those stinky cigaretts". I did, and I have had to watched more than a few of my friends face what Chip is facing. My God Bless him, and grant him peace.

Pity you for having it so close, the smell.

The wind blows up toward our home and the visiting smokers at our neighbors house who are outside their home send the smell right into our living area and last Sunday we got a big whiff while I was showering my disabled son and we both looked at each other and went ewwww....it passed but he has severe asthema and just the smell grosses us out.
