New York Sen. Hillary Clinton warned Thursday that she already sees signs of corruption with Republicans firmly in control of the House, the Senate and the White House.
"You know, absolute power corrupts absolutely," Clinton told CNN's "American Morning."
Dropping the bipartisan demeanor she'd adopted for the opening of her husband's presidential library, Clinton said, "I think that we have an administration and Republican leadership that, you know, is very powerful. And power should be handled carefully in a democracy."
Clinton complained that when Republicans were in the minority, "they certainly wanted to apply the harshest of rules to Democratic leaders for so many years."
While calling for a political "truce to all of this back and forth," she added, "let's have rules that apply to everybody."

Note to Hill: You certainly weren't trumpeting this garbage when the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress, now, did you? So to do it now is just a wee bit hypocritical and disingenuous. But Dems/Libs are well-practiced in those things. You lost. Accept it and get on with you life. The world will not come to an end. How do I know? Because it did not come to an end when you husband was President, and I hated every minute of the eight long, tedious years of his presidency.

How did this woman make it through Welsley & Yale Law with that verbal-tick "Y'know" at the start of her every utterance? I imagine a John Houseman-like professor blowing a gasket every time she had to present a case-study in class.

You're right, young Cicero, we need at least one other viable political party. The current Democratic Party has become hostage to gay rights, abortion right, Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton rights/Michael Moore/MoveOn etc. to the point that you have to belong to some special interest group to really be attracted to it. They're isolated in specific areas, and their interests don't reach mainstream Americans.
IOW, they've got some 'splaining to do to themselves if they want the Democratic Party to be a viable counterpoint. And again, yes, we need it.

This generalization is simply not true. For example, political historians all recognize that the Kennedy-Johnson Civil Rights Law of 1964 could not have been passed without the wide support and cooperation of the Republicans. This same law was opposed by many southern Democrats, including Al Gore, Sr.
I assume she's implying that she and her husband are immune. The rest of us are already aware of the effect that power has on people.
They used to say during the middle ages that power reveals the true person...

From what I've heard, they wrecked homeschooling in Arkansas as soon as a reasonable homeschooling law that everyone agreed on was enacted.
Something for homeschoolers to think about -- whether liberal or conservative -- because she'll do it on the federal level you can be sure of that.
How nice, screw up the public schools in Arkansas and make it very difficult for parents to escape into homeschooling.
