Thank you, I know our troops will be appreciative of all we do for them, espcially during the holidays.

As someone who used to reside in the community near the hosptial I can say the folks are very giving as well. But, we do have many injured that first go there before their stop back at Walter Reed if needed.

There are some items we take for granted that these guys do not even have in Iraq let alone when they arrive at the hospital for care.

I am with you, I am thankful for all the kind folks out there. Bless them and all the troops.

It is a military installation and I am sure you can send goods like you have asked.

I think it is easier to sent money so they can buy the right sizes and such but anything is a wonderful help then they had before.

I have no doubt that folks are helping. But Landstuhl as you know also is the faciiltiy for military members and their families in the region.

There is just a need with those who have been injured in theater.

Thank you for your husbands service and I hope he is well.

Sheesh. We got a load of shoes and sweat suits this morning. We'll send them along with some money just to be sure. Thanks for posting this, we always wonder what they need. We've sent little boxes with things from home, but they contained things that were to lift their spirits more than anything else. That's important, but it's also important to me to send things that they're really in need of.

I am in debt to your kindness. Frankly when I just read my post to you, I saw how tired I was, glad you could make out the substance.

With the holidays around the corner, the kindness of strangers/fellow American's would be appreciated by our troops.

How well stocked is the PX? Often brands are limited. Any toothpaste and shampoo is better than none, of course, but maybe someone on the scene could tell us if they'd like a case of XXXXX brand of women's deodorant, or whatever.

The PX at Landstuhl is pretty big, the problem for the patients is it's across the base and you have to take a shuttle bus to get to it.......I wonder if military wives( like officer/nco wives clubs) are volunteering to pick up these items for those patients who can't get there. My hubby was given a $250 voucher, more than enough to pick up everything he needed....clothes, shoes, etc.......

Will pass this on asap and send a donation today. Sending a card out today too for baby Shane Kielion, Jr. (Soldier Killed Day Son is Born: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1282809/posts) I'd share what the card says, but don't feel like crying again right now. :)

Technically, the holidays have started and my heart is with our servicemen/women all over the world & their families who are sacrificing so much for us all.

Oh, and reading all these posts, I can see that you guys represent all that's good with this country. Proud to be associated with you.
