Anybody in the state of SOuth Carolina see the fight between South Carolina and Clemson football players?
I didn't see anything here from Kansas.
Sports. They just get worse and worse. And it's starting at the HS level and below.
Violence in sports? I'm so shocked, after seeing all the love and harmony between the Pistons and Pacers. What is it all coming to?
Unbelievable. Made last nights mayhem in Detroit look calm. No fans involved this time, just South Carolina State Troopers. 80 guys swinging all over the field for 5 straight minutes.
Pretty big fracas, just saw the clip played. What's up this weekend?
Surprised more of this does not happen in football.
It's pretty timely considering Michigan/Ohio State and Indiana Pacers/Detroit Pistons.
The NHL better watch out, pretty soo we won't need them anymore!
Seriously, why are there are more brawls in sports? Sports is all about having fun. This is happening even at the Pee-Wee sports.
Remember the Steelers Brown fight before the game last weekend? Seems to have carried over to this weekend!
I hope they took off their helmits before the fight.
Some did and they got wacked from behind then taken down, then pummeled.
I went to a football game and a basketball game broke out.

Adults are setting such a fine example for the kids these days. Just look at how classy they behave in the NBA.
It's like old time hockey!!
I just came home and turned on the television and missed the fight; can't believe that it was worse than last night's fight. At least this one didn't involve fans.
Bush re-election leads to violence in sports! Film at 11.
Wooohoo!!! Go Tigers!!!! 29-7!!!!!
What a wonderful way for "St" Lou Holtz to go out. This guy was one of the biggest crooks in College Football and the media fawns all over him. What is is with the state of Arkansas. A red state, but they seem to have the a larger than their fair share of a*sh*les. The Clintonista, Jerry Jones, John Henry (Red Sox owner), and Holtz.
Parents. Parents want their kids to get scholarships, etc so they lose sight of reality and don't teach kids right.
Hah, let's hear it for Fighting Illini coach Ron Turner. Lousy coach but all around great guy.
They showed a blurb on ABC Sports a little while ago....
thuggery, plain and simple. time to raise SAT scores for college athletes again.
The nation has long forgotten Big Thursday.
Any Freeper historians care to share
the story of a great ACC/SEC rivalry?
Placemarker for the video.
We got one here, Paul Pasqualoni. I stood in his corner all the while knowing he was a horrible coach. Great guy, loves his kids, graduates them, turns teams with 9-2 talent into 6-5 teams.
It becomes clearer each year as more and more of his players get into the NFL as high profile players and the best he did was 9-3 in 98. That team should have been 11-0 when you look back. They had McNabb, Freeney, Kevin Johnson, Will Allen, Olindo Mare, Morlin Greenwood, Rob Konrad. The year before they had Marvin Harrison.
More proof that you can give thugs lots of money, but they'll still be thugs.
LOL! Oh, I thought you went to a prize fight and a hockey game broke out.
He's one of the biggest crooks in College Football Seems unlikely that the head coach of Notre Dame could be as you say, and no one in the media would expose him. Are you a Michigan fan? USC?
It seems to me that most athletes these days are immature, spoiled brats. God help them when reality sinks in and they didn't put an education first.
That's what I figure. Getting an athletic scholarship is really difficult. In my high school, I only knew a few who got it. You have to be really good.
Michigan is playing their way out of the Rose Bowl. The BCS is falling apart.
Great day for the Pac 10 and Big 10.
Hell I remember the Eagles and the 49ers going at it back in the 50s
Helmets off and being used as clubs
Just boys lettin off steam
Oh, p_ss on Eddie Shore!!!
The culmulative effect of rap "music" combined with the glamorized thug culture.
There is enough background on this guy about how he skirted the acadamic qualifications for entrance to Notre Dame in his quest to win. He had endless battles with the administration over this and when he lost he still did what he wanted. The Notre Dame infatuated media kept a lid on this until he was gone. In fact one of the reasons that Notre Dame has for the most part struggled since he left was because the Administration there regained control over admission.
As far as being an Arkansas, he rose to fame as coach of Arkansas. I probably could have put Nolan Richardson on that list, he deserves it, but I believe he was a Texan. His fame came while at Arkansas as did Holtz.
Gangsta rap is vile. I read somewhere that it is a form of Black self-hatred. Lot of non-Blacks are into Gangsta rap and dress like them.
And no , I am in no way a Big 10 fan or Notre Dame fan. I just tired of the fawning over this guy who to me is the Football equivalent of Larry Brown.
I don't know about that. The early NBA of Sheboygan, Ft. Wayne , Rochester and Syracuse were littered with fights. The players were 90 per cent white then. We just did not have the hand-wringers around then to try to stir up a sense of outrage then.
My friend played (walked on) for Holtz at ND....he almost left the first year...but stayed with it. He seemed to indicate that Holtz was a racist SOB.
So who are they getting in down here in Columbia to replace Lou? The Ol' Ball Coach his-self, Steve Spurrier. Unnnnnngh.
First Spurrier ran my Redskins into the ground, and now he's coming *here*. I can't get away from this visor-wearing a-hole nightmare!
There are a lot of stories about Holtz that the media covered-up. You won't hear them now that he is an old man. To be fair about the racist stuff, there probably was a lot of Southern coaches that came of age during that era , were of the same cloth. That was the culture. How many stayed frozen in time and how many changed is the issue.
You will be OK with Spurrier. The most important job of a college coach is done on National Letter of Intent day. Spurrier will win those battles.
Nothing here in Los Angeles ...
