Apparently one of the appropriations bills the Senate is about to vote on contained a provision that allowed congressional staffers access to individuals and corporations tax returns to which they could do whatever they wish with (e.g., share with the press, post on the internet). And it appears not one Senator was aware of this. LOL! It's just fun watching McCain, ect. go balistic over this.
Who's responsible for that provision?
Snicker snicker
We all ought to be going ballistic over such a provision. Hillary Clinton was a congressional staffer once. Imagine what she'd do with this power.
Hooray for you for posting this---I have been watching with popcorn and a Coke--- Unfortunately, the dems are now using this against the Republicans.
Did you hear Feinsten mention the DA in Texas? Methinks she is thinking Tom Delay did this. Do you think Tom Delay would be that stupid, considering all of the ethical scrutiny he has been under?
I think the pajamahadeen needs to sharpen their typing fingers--we need to keep track of the senate and house and not let the dems steamroll everything on the Reps (unless the Reps are wrong).
While this provision is assinine, the little play Conrad and Feinstein have going on right now is pretty silly.
McCain went completely nuts over this, because not one senator knew it was in the bill. Apparently a staffer brought it to someones attention.
Hey! Don't look behind you Senator RAT, but your desks are all covered with dead trees!!!!!!!!!!!!
Conrad is reading 1 page from that whole satck ? to make a point ?
I don't think they should pass that humongous bill unless all of it is debated!!!!
I hate omnibus bills--there is all kinds of pork added and WE WE WE have to pay for it.!!!!!!
Certainly is. I hate it when they perform these theatrics. Seems so infantile.
I believe Senators & Reps. should have to read every freakin bill they vote on. That ought to be a rule or law.
bill number? numbers ?
Did you see on C-Span earlier when the 9/11 Intelligence committee was going ballistic about not being able to pass the 9/11 bill today because some of the Rep. House members aren't going along on all of the provisions in THAT bill---
Everyone is a little testy today !!!!!!
Sen. Craig is wrong. The vote to remove it will be 98-0 with the Johns on vacation.
Does that mean we can have a "friendly" divulge and post JFk & Terrys complete tax returns on the internet? What fun!
Whose staffers?
?? Why are they in session on a Saturday?
What the hell has it got to do with abortion ? i thought it was a tax bill ?
Oh dear, now they are talking about an abortion provision in the bill---here we go.
Now they have done it, they got poor Senator Steven about to have a heart attack from running to the floor. He is another one that get hot under the sports collar quickly!
They didn't get their work done because of the election so they are staying today to try to get it ALL done before the holidays.
Why not? They get plenty of time off during the year.
The 911 comittee has their own agenda. They sure are in a rush. I'm glad some aren't letting themselves be steam-rolled.
Get Cspan 2 Get an eye on this im already confused !
LINE ITEM VETO!
Some way to run a government - !
Fire the staffers(after they discover the ones who were the leaders) - and why is it so easy for "anyone" to sneak something into a bill - ?
Need final watchdogs from both sides to go completely over something just before it does come to the floor for a vote - This happens often it seems - remembering the new Great Lake -
Perhaps they need a law - where each and every bill should be seen by each and every member - and no back room deals at the end. Take it piece by piece if the bill is big or covers a lot of territory - then seal it away until done - then vote on it as a whole -
Who is minding the store - ? What a mess
But bless the guys in the House who held strong - Hunter and the other guy - important issues -
Every time I think "Yes, Minister" was just making things up...
Makes you think: What else do they not know about that we don't know about?
They can oly get past the only word they can utter is 'TAX.'
oly = only
LOL
Pajamahadeen sounds like a terror group.
They are all upset about one provision regarding forcing doctors and nurses and hospitals to have to do abortions if they want federal money. Anyway, you notice THAT is the main thing other than the ONE little piece of paper with the IRS bill.
They are all clucking like hens about the huge bill and what else could be in there that they don't know, BUT do you see any of them offering to stay through December to go over it page by page and do it right?
Still trying to figure out which bill they're discussing.
Did McCain just ask for 20 minutes? Holey moley.
How many damn pages is in that appropriations bill? Smaller government is more efficient.
Anything with Islamic overtones is a no-no in my book.

That is because after the Dan Rathers fiasco with Bushs NG records, an ex-CBS executive went on O'Reilly and blamed the internet guys that don't have anything better to do than sit around in pajamas and post on blog sites.
He practically equivocated these pajama-clad bloggers with the terrorists he was so mad that Rathers little smear job was uncovered.
After that some of us that want to watch our media and politicians and keep them honest, refer to ourselves as the pajamahadeen as a reminder of the "compliment" paid by that ex-CBS executive.
Are you offended?
.
International Fertilizer System? Ain't that the UN??
Pajamahadeen is not a compliment, it's an insult, why give it any credence ?
