The NYPD created its "own little Guantanamo on the Hudson" during the Republican National Convention when it arrested nearly 2,000 protesters and held them in filthy pens for longer than the law allows, a lawsuit filed yesterday charges."All that was missing were the orange jumpsuits," said lawyer Jonathan Moore after filing the federal suit on behalf of several of those arrested.

During the GOP convention, the city detained arrestees at an old bus depot on the Hudson. Many complained of oily floors and foul air.

I remember checking in on the kiddies at Indymedia while they were smugly bragging about jamming police radio transmissions during teh RNC convention, and they were going bizzak about the "Gitmo on the Hudson" then.
They also mentioned starting legal proceedings back then.
They were also using those already detained to listen in on police strategy.
So the police got wise and confiscated cellphones and such.
Which the kiddies whined about even further.

The worst thing about their (snicker) ordeal, was the ghost of Ed Norton, Ralph Cramden's old buddy, showing up for work there every day, thinking that because of what had suddenly flooded the place, the sewer was backing up.
