Say NO To Arnold For Prez (NO FOREIGN-Born Presidents)
Petition Online ^ | 11/23/2004 | Jon Alvarez

Posted on 11/23/2004 11:32:59 AM PST by Jon Alvarez

Like him or not, as Americans we should all stand together to say NO to any change in the US Constitution that would allow foreign-born, naturalized citizens to run for and hold the highest office in this great land...Apparently a movement is underway to change the US Constitution. We must stand up to this and oppose it.

We, the undersigned, stand together in vigilant defense of our great nation. We defend the wisdom behind the decision of the Founding Fathers to limit the ascension to this nation's highest office to "no person except a natural born citizen". We, too, subscribe to this long-held belief that only a native-born American is suitable to gain election to the highest office in the land.

Therefore, in order to prevent foreign subversion, we stand in opposition to any and all efforts to amend Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution that bars the foreign-born from seeking the Presidency. Recent legislation introduced by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher in the House and Sen. Orrin Hatch in the Senate, proposing an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to allow naturalized citizens to serve as President of these United States, necessitates our action in the defense of the sovereignty of our country.

I can't believe this thing would ever pass. Just too hard to pass a constitutional amendment, and there's no groundswell of support.

What I want to know is whether it is true that Arnold Schwarzenegger had or still has dual citizenship in Austria. I have mixed feelings about opening up the presidency to a naturalized long-term citizen but I am absolutely opposed to letting anyone with dual citizenship anywhere near the presidency of the United States.

Over 80% of all Americans oppose allowing foreigners to serve in the highest office of the nation. Don't let the sellouts and RINOs tell you any different.

I agree with you. No foreign born presidents.

Sorry Arnold...Don't come back. Fix California, give us more movies, but don't open the door for foreign populists to run.

After seeing what happened to the last country that let an ethnic Austrian rise to power, I'll have to pass on that.

When this issue is forwarded by a potential candidate it is certainly self serving at best and at worst dishonorable.

Don't worry, the constitution won't be changed to suit Arnold....

He's just doing what he does best, drumming up publicity, keeping his name in the news. This isn't a serious run...

Why waste the time? There's not a chance on Earth this will ever get through any legislative body. Just ignore this nonsense. No petition is needed.

What?

You don't support the "Cult of Personality" Amendment to the Constitution? /s

I think Peru tried this with a Japanese National, didn't they?

No Exceptions!

There is nothing wrong with the current system where the progeny of naturalized citizens can run for the highest office in the land.

I do not think that is too much to ask.

No never, will I support any change in our Constitution to allow foreign-born individuals to be our President.

Can you just imagine for a moment a Saddam or a binLaden type run for the position and be ELECTED?

I agree..however, there is ONE way that they might get this to pass..which is what I would do if I were running the campaign. There are two folks known now, whom this would effetc..SArnold and GRanholm..the Dem gov of Michigan.. If they both supported it, but annouced that they would never seek, nor accpet the nominatio..that they were doing it for those who might come after them..then that selflessness would get a lot of attention, and perhaps change minds.

That would be Austria, wouldn't it? What's happening there?
