Here is another great link to another video of Bush rescuing his Secret Service Agent in Chile. This is very similar to video link I posted early this morning, however, this video link has no background commentary, and I believe you can hear Bush speaking 'get your hands off him'. Also, as someone else said "notice the guy on the right rather frantically trying to point out to the others that THE MOST LEADER OF THE MOST POWERFUL NATION ON EARTH is trying to break up the fight."
Video is better quality and a little longer.
Will this prove to the Rats what a coward our President is?
"I believe you can hear Bush speaking 'get your hands off him'"
I can confirm that's what I hear too.
(If one views on Windows Media at 300k):
AWESOME BUMP!! HE'S THE REAL DEAL FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I heard him..."Get your hands off him!"
This is an example of what a Commander In Chief does for those he leads.
I just had an amusing thought. Can you imagine a video of the Secret Service pulling W off of one of the Chilean guards, and having to keep pulling him off until he's about twenty feet away? Now THAT's a President I'd vote for again!
He was really good with folks," he said. But the young pilot did not take insults well: "You can't put him down too easily. He's really tough. He'll fight you."
He has a lot of Barbara in him.
Well said! Note to world leaders: GWB takes a step back from no one. (But I bet it gives his agents palpitations at times.)
Never forget: "cowboy" is a compliment.
Yes, he does, and so much the more reason to keep on a prayin' for his safety as it's getting hard to predict what's going to happen next! :-)
PING (for your collection of "Bush in Chile" threads)
For that we are eternally grateful.
Prayers up for our President.
Unbelievable. No wonder there have been so many coups in Chile. Holding back security for visiting heads of state is deplorable.
I just love it!
Bump for later listening.
How can one save that video to a file? Being that it's steam video, do you need something special to be able to save that video?
Are you saying W hasn't much of his old man's "kinder and gently, walk-on-me" demeanor?
In the past I've been able to right click on the vidwo link and select "save as" to save a video file. That method's not working for me today. Hopefully another freeper will be able to solve this mystery. ;-)
Major failure of the S.S. ! Leader of the free (sane anyway) world, in a mob of people, in a third-world banana republic. Seperated from his S.S. protection by who-knows-who, with police officers carrying unprotected weapons mixing it up with the crowd. Extremely dangerous situation.
I think George the elder fooled a lot of people with that external public gentle demeanor...
He was a tough CIA agent before he ever got to the top slot....I dont think they hire directors
The fact is very few people know the real George Bush Sr...but I think he was and still is a very formidable opponent..
Apples don't fall far from the trees...

"Do you have the link for the windows media version? I can't use real player, it screws up my computer every time I download it.
I agree from a security standpoint this was a total breakdown of basic personnel protection discipline. Even worse it's caught on tape for the entire world to see. Believe me this security breach will be studied by our enemies. The President walking over to the foreign mob to retrieve his personal bodyguard should be treated as a failure in security that if not remedied could be exploited.
Try this actual link to the video; it opens up in windows...or it did in mine:
When confronted by enemy fire, John Kerry took his Swift Boat and cut and run. He only came back later to pick up that guy, and he found that the rest of the Swift Boat guys stayed.
If Kerry was president, he would have cut and run also and left his Secret Service guy to fend for himself.
Yes, there is a big difference between the winner and the loser.
Bump for when I emerge from behind my workplace firewall...
Hadn't seen it yet - love it, except for the fact that other have already brought up - - it should never have been allowed to happen in the first place.
What a cool guy to have as President.
"I don't fall down, the son of a b*itch knocked me over."
Also, if my ears are right, right at :32 seconds elapsed on your video link there there, you can hear the woman (probably in the red outfit stepping in next to Bush and also trying to extract that agent) saying "Mr. President!"; right after that you hear HIM say "Git Your Hands Off Him!"
He was a tough CIA agent before he ever got to the top slot...."
I assumed he was a tough guy while in the CIA, but all that changed.
We DO know he caved to House pressure regarding taxes, and ran a wimpy re-election campaign which led to Bubba.

I wonder wether anyone studdied the effects of video games on the thought process of those "in the line of fire". Unlike shoot 'em ups, in real life, there is no "start again" after you got killed or your boss got killed.
I am afraid that this episode is only
Thank you both.
I can capture it and will post it to my website tonight, and let you all know.
I admire his courage, but the President needs to stay out of such things, its potentially dangerous. We are in the middle of a war with ruthless assassins, who would stop at nothing to get at him. Not that that would change anything. But our enemy is stupid too. Just look at the grief Osama Bin Laden has brought down on them. Not to mention that moron Hussein, who thought he could just thumb his nose at us.
I watched a 44 minute long video of this that was posted here on FR. That doorway remained clear as other heads of state and dignitaries arrived. The ONLY time the door was blocked was when the SS tried to enter with GW. It was planned by Chile and that thought makes me sweat.
"This is an example of what a Commander In Chief does for those he leads."
Exactly! And I have NO DOUBT, that, had the situation warranted, President Bush would have decked someone!
Our President has GUTS.
