Old Nicollo's gonna hit that fine stretch of asphalt on the way up to a NYC Thanksgiving now (and in a fine machine).
Best wishes to all, and keep Elian in your thoughts and prayers. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the ping, Nicollo. Sorry for the delay in responding, but both our modems and some files got fried during the storm we had a few days ago and we are still working on it (Loop of problems!). Got one fixed and one to go; guess who's on the one that works?
When I think of Elian that Easter morning, the hair on my back still stands up. reno can go to the appropriate place when her(its) time on Earth is up, and take klintons with her/it.
Hope you and yours had a very good thanksgiving.
I am so thankful for a lot of things...

Thanks for the ping Nicollo, it is good to hear from you again.
I am sure that I am not alone when I say that the entire Elian experience has re-affirmed my faith in God.
In retrospect, it is easy to see that Elian's plight has galvanized huge numbers of people to examine their beliefs and take a strong stand against Castro, Communism, Clinton, Corruption, and Complacency. We as individuals need to act and not rely on the "government" to take care of us, because the "government" is often wrong.
There is no doubt in my mind that more than 537 Floridian votes were changed to the GWB in 2000. Had it not been for Elian, we all would be taking about President Gore (shiver!!). Even the huge turnout earlier this month can be partially attributed to the disgust that many of us feel toward the Democrats and the evil they promote. For me, that disgust manifests itself in the plight of Elian and the injustice perpetrated against him by the slimes on the left.
Although Elian is a prisoner in Cuba with millions of others, he has won a huge victory and proves to me that God does indeed work in mysterious ways. While the horrors of Easter weekend of 2000 are still fresh in my mind, it is a great consolation that Elian changed the world for the better. He helped turn the tide against Democratic evil, and made the world a better place. If he does nothing else during his time on Earth, he will have accomplished more than 99.9% of the rest of us.

Hello, DeSoto!
I hadn't thought about it quite like that... most interesting. I would, perhaps, reverse the causality, what with free will and all that, and put it that while God may have smiled upon Dubya's 2000, he gave Clinton/Gore the opportunity to choose it first. They did not choose wisely, and those 537 votes changed history.
Wow.
Thanks for writing!

Happy Thanksgiving to you! I had a marvelous thanksgiving, although without my little ones who were off to a wedding on their Mom's side of things. I spent it up in NYC, and it was a magnificent time. I had NO IDEA just how big a deal that friggin Macy's Parade thing is. They say 2.5 million --MILLION!-- were there to watch. I only just got an inkling of it all when I pulled into the usual garage and they demanded 20 bucks up front just to leave the car for 2 hours. Even by NYC standards that was a bit much. "It's the parade," I was informed. I ponied up.
Glad you're un-frizzled from the storm and back on line.
