SAN`A, Yemen Yemeni authorities have released 113 militants belonging to the Al Qaeda network including at least five once accused of involvement in the deadly bombing of the USS Cole after they recanted their extremist views, security officials said Thursday.
The militants once accused in the USS Cole bombing were later cleared. The 15 Yemeni militants convicted in August of involvement in the 2000 bombing, which killed 17 U.S. sailors, were not released.
The 113 men were released during the past two weeks after signing pledges not to carry out terror acts or criminal activities. LoL!!!

They recanted their "extremist" views? Anybody out there believe that? What about their terrorist views? One more in the "Against Us" column in the WoT. Sheesh.

after they recanted their extremist views, security officials said Thursday.Apparently their responses to "so how does THAT make you feel" were considered a more concerning impact than their response to "blotted pictures".

This is why that Marine in Fallujah was right. The rules of engagement against terrorists should be amended to read: "Kill on sight".

I assume a vacuous expression and smile, similiar to that of a Cabbage Patch doll. I insert the tip of my extended, right index finger into the dimple on the right side of my face and say...
DDDDDUUUUUURRRRRUUUUUUHHHHHH?!?
I remove the finger and vacuous expression and say "thanks a freakin LOT Yemen, have you been listening to Binny's favorite wife channeling his tortured spirit again? How much 'lost' Iraqi blood for food money have YOU GUYS been paid off with??"
***
As with Saudi, there are three factions within the Yemeni bureaucracy that we have to sift through: A. those that really want to help us because they like our money and fear our bombs, B. those who sneak through the shadows, making back room deals and helping terrorists acheive their objective attacks, and the third and most numerous, those who are both A and B.
All Pan Arabist countries are like that, and it's option B, combined with international law that screws us up and gets us killed.
Still, the fact that the info has hit in the news might give us hope that the dogs have been loosed and the rats will be closely watched and hunted if necessary.

If they're not already, they'll probably shortly be in Iraq, where ours or other coalition forces will get them.

b. Kofi Annan approves (he probably donated some Oil-for-Food cash so these guys would have walkin around money).
c. Yemen is a staunch ally in the WOT

Further evidence that prisoners are not a suitable outcome, for this war.
Maybe short term, holding prisoners makes sense for intelligence.
Following such prisoners status, release should be impossible, but disappearance should be highly likely.

I'll believe that, when I see evidence of the "moderate Muslims" systematically destroying the rabid lunatics in their midst -- instead of CONSTANTLY releasing them on their worthless promises to be good boys...

No sensible person could believe anything an Al Qaeda terrorist says. These people are aparty to a worldwide conspiracy to kill and terrorize civilians. Therefore, they've placed themselves beyond any consideration allocated to a normal member of society. In other words, these 113 terrorists are legitimate targets. The catch-and-release program engaged in by governments (ours included) is misguided. It's justified and, in my opinion, mandatory that these 113 be taken out.

I realize that G. W. would probably never give the order to do so, but I'm beginning to think that its time a nuclear bomb (or several) was "accidentially" denotated in either, Saudi, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Jordan or Yemen. Yes, innocent people would be injured or killed but cult that is Islam needs to have an even stronger message sent that either they kill all their radicals or we will kill all Muslims. And BTW, I can't be convinced that there is such a person as a peaceful Muslim.

You know, I've often wondered how many times the savages responsible for the U.S.S. Cole escaped or were released. For awhile, it was being reported they caught the "man responsible" for the bombing every other day. Come to think of it, they probably reported it at least 113 times.
Do you think I am too optimistic to think that we could better deal with them out on the street, then under the protection of the prison walls?
