Dean won't get it..and doesn't want it..what he wants, IMHO, is to be denied it..

If that was his goal, he's screwed, alot of the other canidates have dropped out. The clinton follower is Harold Ickles, a pretty sleazy hack of an operative. Thats pretty much his only real serious competition. Everyone else is keeping there distance and watching to see what can happen.

There is no doubt in my mind that Dean does want to run in 2008, there is also no doubt in my mind that while he may knows how the clintons are, he has been reckless, attacking them a couple of times, then backtracking like crazy from what he said, to finally just losing it.

He also doesn't get America at all, and while he knows the Clintons have harmed the party, he's to damn left wing (or at least he talks and acts to damn left wing)to know how to run the dem party right.

Personally, I think Terry McAwfull has been ripping the party off and looting it blind, and anything other them him is an improvement, but all of Deans campaign people have pretty much left/abandoned him.

The last person we need as DNC chair is Dean. He's a good organizer and can coordinate the loons better than Terry.

The guys who ran Deans campaign essentially did the organizational and fundraising work.

They have all pretty much abandoned him, and his close circle is not even on speaking terms with him.

I don't know why nobody's mentioned Bill Clinton. Wouldn't he be perfect for the job, at least in terms of what they're looking for?

Nope, he's been a disaster for them as of late. Most dems would seem him as trying to clear the field for his wife (they would be right), and as a distraction.

Regardless of political party, politicians have big ego's and clinton's is enourmous, he overshadows everyone else, and hogs the limelight. Anyone taking him on, republican wise, gets instant media coverage, leaving the dem canidates looking second rate.

Even if the DNC and the entire dem party wants Hillary (and she will run), the nation would be so sick of her by 2008 that people would rather vomit then go to the polls and have to keep hearing her name again and again.

Can you remember any president who left office and stuck around the political scene this much? At least Jimmy Carter goes overseas or does some kind of charity work and sometimes some small BS, but nothing like what Clintons been doing the last 4 and now the next 4 years.

Frost would be dangerous. He, at least, understands middle America. You had better hope for Dean.

Donnie Fowler

I believe he's from South Carolina. He ran Kerry's campaign in Michigan.

The bottom line, though, is that it's not enough to understand middle America. The Dems are not going to be able to recover their former base unless they actually do something for middle America. No one believed Kerry when he promised to cut taxes. No one believed him when he picked up a hunting rifle. Folks have figured out that the Dems are big on talk and symbols, not so good at backing up their promises with deeds.

Heck, I'd vote for a Democrat if they'd actually do something. So far, I haven't found one who's not a fraud.

I see Hindery is still under consideration. Guess his ties to Global Crossing make him a perfect candidate to head up the DNC.
