Drunk or stupid? I'm presuming it was arrogance. Rachel Buchman, like so many members of the "news" media, believes that she is a member of a privileged class that is free to do and say whatever she wants to whoever she wants.
And I'll bet she has an even higher-paying job in journalism within two weeks. She's a martyr now.
