He may be an idiot and his wife a clueless fool obsessed with demonizing guns, but they also have the right to fire a nanny who doesn't demonstrate the values they espouse. It is their house, and she works for them and follows their directions.

Well, of course, you're right - but I think the suit will largely hinge on their actions afterwards. IF they gave this woman no specific instructions not to bring certain items, fired her with no warning, and then proceed to publicly paint her as a terrorist and unfit to be around children, there's probably something actionable in there somewhere.

It doesn't matter. He should be able to fire his nanny for no reason whatsoever, and badmouth her on the radio (as long as he doesn't say her name).

The part I have issue with is the ranch and its purpose. Sounds like an IRS scam to me.
