MY CHRISTMAS CRUSADE (Michelle Malkin is organizing against those taking Christ out of Christmas)

MY CHRISTMAS CRUSADE

By Michelle Malkin   ·   December 02, 2004 02:36 AM
The persecution never ends. Denver has launched war against a church group that wanted to march in the city's Christmas parade "Parade of Lights." (I hate, hate, hate that p.c. euphemism.)

From the Denver Post: Parade Organizers Say Christmas Carols May Be Offensive To Others

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper recently announced that next year the phrase "Merry Christmas" will be removed from the city building and replaced with "Happy Holidays."

And now a church group who wants to march in the Parade of Lights and sing Christmas carols will not be allowed to participate in the parade. Organizers say the parade is about the holidays, not Christmas, but leaders of the Faith Bible Chapel say that's ridiculous.

"We can't pretend that Christ didn't exist and Christmas wasn't about his birthday, so we felt we could sing it and apparently that is not in social vogue anymore," said Pastor Gary Beasley, with the Faith Bible Chapel.

"This event is not one that has ever intended to have a religious message or a political message," said Susan Rogers, with the Downtown Denver Partnership.

She said no overtly religious symbols is allowed in the parade and that means participants can't carry "Merry Christmas" signs and can't sing traditional Christmas hymns.

I am hereby launching the Lump of Coal campaign. Later today, I will box up a lump of charcoal, mark the package "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" and send it to the Denver Mayor in protest of his idiotic policy. Please join me in doing the same (and if you take a photo of your creatively designed package, I will link/post).

Send to:

Mayor John W. Hickenlooper
Denver City and County Building
1437 Bannock Street, Suite 350
Denver, CO 80202

I was thinking how great it would be if there was a small town that was forbidden from having a Nativity scene by the ACLU or some other useless organization and the citizens revolted. The revolt would be in the form of HUNDREDS of houses with outdoor Nativity Scenes accented by very bright lights.

In her article, she uses the word 'charcoal' and so I believe that she is referring to that mainstay of the American Barbecue, most commonly associated with our friends at the Kingsford company

Kingsford, The Original

Christians need to stop being silent and start taking actions. Boycott the parade. Boycott malls that don't play proper Christian Christmas carols. Get vocal. There is nothing in the Gospels that says you must shut up and be silent, rather just the opposite. Stand up and show your faith, protect your right to live in a Christian community of the faithful and express it. We should not give a hoot if the sinful and hateful are "offended". If Muslims can blare their call to prayer, We can blare Christmas carols and celebrate the birth of Christ. If any business objects, don't shop there. And after Christmas, start being a Christian and live like one. Boycott and protest things YOU find offensive!!!

What a glorious idea...I think that a massive, grassroots protest is precisely what the ACLU-types fear the most.

Boycotting the parade is the wrong thing to do. Don't sit on both hands because your offended. Offend the politically correct nutcases back by exercising your right to free speech and sing CHRISTmas carols and telling people Merry CHRISTmas.

They do whatever it takes, legally or illegally, to suppress the expression of any religion other than theirs.

They may be able to stop government and public sponsor events

But then can't stop individuals from speaking .. or in this case singing

Remember the story of the football game where everyone in the stands took it upon themselves to say the Lord Prayer before the game

Well .. we should sing Christmas Carols

Sing It Loud and Sing it Proud!!

JOY TO THE WORLD

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

I could understand this crap happening in Boulder, but it's puzzling to say the least to see this happening in Denver. It's probably no surprise perhaps, since the Denver City Council is a bunch of Democrats. It came as no surprise to me to see Colorado become a swing state this year, particularly since Colorado has taken in quite a number of California transplants over the years, pushing their Socialist agenda down Colorado's throat.

Boycott the secular parades that are not called "Christmas", boycott the school winter carnivals that are not "Christmas" events, boycott Macy's and Target.

Spend your money elsewhere. The economy won't tank, the corporations will take notice.

The event planners will take notice when they only draw 10% and few children.

The left doesn't care "why" people go, so long as you are there. The more people they can claim "went" the more they can claim in the media and to superiors that their event was a "success".

Meanwhile, we can celebrate Christmas every day (Easter too!). Any time you want to take the opportunity to remember Jesus' birth or resurrection, you can. Try saying "Merry Christmas" to every stranger you meet, especially retailer. Every day. All year.

I don't understand why (PC) Americans have such a problem with the words "Merry Christmas."

In Singapore, which is not a "Christian" nation per se, they decorate the streets in bright lights and gaudy fake snow at Christmas time, and no one, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu or atheist, has a problem with it.

If I happen to say "Merry Christmas" to a friend who is Buddhist, he doesn't get all bent out of shape about it. Why should he? He knows it's just a friendly greeting, and no offense is meant or taken.

Of course, Singaporeans say "Happy Chinese New Year" and "Happy Ramadan," and "Happy Deepavali" (it's a Hindu holiday) on the appropriate days as well. Each celebrates his own holidays and lets others celebrate theirs.

They will also take note when folks take back Christmas

Bring back the days of Christmas Caroling

Bring back Tis the Season to be Jolly

Can you just imagine having blocks and blocks of people singing Christmas Songs through out the Parade?

Like I said above

There are two bills that have been introduced in the U.S. Congress, one in the House, HR3799, http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:H.R.3799:
and one in the Senate, S2323.
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:S.2323:

Both of these bills are called the “Constitution Restoration Act of 2004.” These two bills were written by a team led by Chief Justice Roy Moore. These two bills will stop the federal courts, once and for all, from ruling on matters of religious expression in America. Displays of the Ten Commandments will once again be secure, prayer in schools will once again be enjoyed, and our religious freedoms will be returned to the people who rightfully own those freedoms—us!

We should all write all congress and senators and demand they support them.

The Declaration of Independence declares, “All men are created equal, and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable (God-given) rights, among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And that to secure those rights, governments are established among men, deriving their just powers (authority) from the consent of the governed.” This covenant between America and God is on the verge of being meaningless, unless we stop the tyrannical federal courts that have worked for years to destroy those very rights and freedoms that made this nation great. Our government was established and given power for the express purpose of protecting the rights that were given to us by God, These lefty anti Christ want government to become god.

As a matter of fact, I HAVE a lump of coal. It is in a pretty, red, round can with a picture of Santa on the lid. He is looking in his book labled, "EXTRA Naughty Boys & Girls", Around the edge of his picture, it says "A LUMP OF COAL for all naughty boys & girls." It is about 3 1/2" in diameter, and not quite 1" deep. Inside is a piece of red tissue folded around several small lumps of coal.

On the back, it says, "Santa has decided that _________ has been very naughty this year." "from ____________.

It is from The Tin Box Co of America Inc.

We bought it for a special relative, but she moved, and didn't leave a forwarding address before we could send it.

This might be a good alternative use for it.

We may have found it at Spencer's Gifts, but I realy don't remember for sure.
