And can you blame him? Hehehe....actually, I'm wondering if this wasn't staged by the administration.....
To: eastforker
We should really piss them off.

Send Barney to sing happy songs all day. They'd get about the same ammount of work done.

I wish the US would resign from the UN.

President Bush should call Koffi and tell him we'll send a new ambassador AFTER we send in a Special Prosecutor.

No way this was staged. I wonder why he resigned.
To: eastforker

John Danforth and his family are straightforward, honest, compassionate folks from St. Louis. They have given much to the community. John Danforth was our Senator for many years and his brother was Chancellor of Washington University.
Based on the Danforths' integrity, I would think Senator Danforth could not stomach the corruption that he was wise enough to immediately comprehends he got into the UN. I had hopes that he would be able to deliver a strong message to the UN from the American people, but evidently the "challenge" was even too big for John Danforth.
IMHO, that tells us just how corrupt the United Nations has become, or perhaps always has been.
Perhaps it's time for the USA to just with draw from the United Nations and request they relocate to Paris.
As a redneck, I say, we don't need no stinking UN!
BTW, Thanks Senator Danforth for the effort. Your action speaks louder than what the MSM will make out of your resignation.

I say we send a horse or a donkey to be the US ambassador to the UN (just like Caligula sent such a beast to the Roman Senate).
Then we tell the UN we are leaving within a year -- and since the UN owes us billions of dollars for our military deployment tell them OUR BILL IS PAID IN FULL -- !

Okay...not staged....just designed to send a message about what the U.S. thinks about the Kofi corruption.
To: ALOHA RONNIE
FYI..He was on Fox this morning..after Norm Coleman they were pushing him hard to say if he agreed that Kofi should go..he was noncommittal..talked about the UN investigation..kept on tallking several times about hopwhard the Waco investigation was..Steve, and Brian were looking at him strangely..almost like Danforth wasn't all there? If he knew he was resigning. why did he go on the show this morning..? There's MORE here, I believe.. maybe he got read the riot act after his tepid TV pereformance, was told to "resign"

U.N. Ambassador Danforth Resigns
WASHINGTON — U.N. Ambassador John Danforth (search) has handed in his resignation. Danforth, a former Missouri Republican senator, was confirmed to the post by the Senate at the end of June. An Episcopalian priest, he was thrust into the national spotlight after being chosen to officiate at President Reagan's state funeral. Danforth replaced John Negroponte (search), who is U.S. ambassador to Iraq. Danforth had been named as a possible replacement for retiring Secretary of State Colin Powell, but the nomination was given to National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice.

He might do well to investigate the recent UN sex scandals.
To: not2worry
Having worked in Senator Danforth's office for several years, I would not be surprised if he was unhappy that President Bush is too anti-UN, and he didn't want to go along with that program. He was very internationalist in his outlook. He would be horrified by the corruption at the UN, true, but I doubt that he would even consider leaving the UN.

They should have been investigating Bill Clinton, not Reno.
Based on what she actually knew of what was going on in Waco she probably had no idea of the facts and was just another innocent, stupid pawn of Bill & Hillary Clinton.
You can't fix stupid.
