The Koran is readable. It takes work to wade through it, though. Like a badly written text book on nuclear physics. Talk to a Muslim, though, and he'll say you have to read it in Arabic since that's the language God wrote it in. For some reason God was unable to write a book that could be translated into another language without the meaning getting substantially altered.

It's all basic evil human nature. That's why you need to pray in public 1,825 every year.
The Muslims use a number of tricks to cover their tracks and claim they're not the bad guys. Here's a summary (more details available if people request):
1. Islam is a religion of peace, it's just that a few bad apples are causing the trouble.
2. The vast majority of Muslims are peaceful.
3. The Koran preaches peace, it's just that a few imams don't interpret correctly. You must read the book, preferrably in Arabic, to understand this.
I'm afraid that #3, in particular tricks a lot people. No one should have to read the Koran to figure out what it means. Those people doing the sawing in Iraq are not holding bibles. That's enough for me.
