Look, he was as gracious as he's capable of being and that, honestly, was surprising to me. He did the right thing. Who really cares what Elton John thinks. I'm surprised that nobody is mentioning the fact that Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee were honored. There are no more vocal, active Communists than those two.

Exactly. I wish I had even half of the class, patience and maturity of President Bush.

You can. Here's his secret:

Read Paul's instructions to Timothy in 1 and 2 Timothy. It's all about the fruits of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:16 and following.

This situation is an example of how the President is living out his Christian life as a servant of the Lord. Stark contrast in comparison to Sir Elton John's fits of anger.

For those of you who don't know about Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, check this outL

In 1941, Davis began his career in the entertainment field. He has been an actor, director, scriptwriter, and producer. He has appeared on the stage, in films, and on television.

Davis has been affiliated with the Emergency Civil Liberties Committee ("Communist front" - "subversive"); the Citizens Committee for Constitutional Liberties ("Communist front"); New World Review ("Communist publication"); Morning Freiheit ("Communist publication"); Camp Midvale (Communist Party enterprise); the National Committee to Abolish the House Un-American Activities Committee ("to lead and direct the Communist Party's 'Operation Abolition' campaign"); Freedomways magazine (leftwing); the American Peace Crusade ("Communist front"); the National Council of the Arts, Sciences, and Professions ("a Communist front used to appeal to special occupational groups"); the Association of Artists for Freedom (leftwing); the Liberation Committee for Africa (leftwing); the Monroe Defense Committee (on behalf of leftist-racist Robert F. Williams); the Alexander Defense Committee (on behalf of leftist-racist agitators in South Africa); and the Charter Group for a Pledge of Conscience (on behalf of six who conspired to murder a woman shopkeeper in Harlem).

Davis was eulogist at funeral services for Malcolm X, a leading racial agitator. He was chairman of a memorial tribute to W.E.B. DuBois, a Communist. He agitated on behalf of the atom spies, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg and Morton Sobell. He attended a rally in honor of the Communist revolutionary Che Guevara. In the political arena, Davis endorsed the New York City mayoralty candidacy of William Fitts Ryan, an ultra-leftist. He participated in the Voters' Pledge Campaign for "peace" candidates in 1966. He was a member of the National Conference for New Politics, a third-party movement largely controlled by the Communists. He was the keynote speaker at the founding convention of the Freedom and Peace Party, which ran Communist candidates for the presidency and lesser offices in 1968.

As a leftwing peacenik, Davis was affiliated with the 1965 March on Washington for Peace in Vietnam, the 1965 Ad Hoc Committee of Veterans for Peace in Vietnam, the 1966 Sing-In for Peace Concert at Carnegie Hall, and the 1966 Read-In for Peace in Vietnam at New York's Town Hall.

In the area of racial agitation, Davis has been affiliated with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).

These are the people our Country honors. Elton John, Warren Beatty and these two. Unbelievable. And President had to sit through this. Who decides who gets these awards, I wonder?

It is the Kennedy center, afterall, so the Kennedy family can pick whoever they want to be on the board who then pick who they want to honor or give an accolade to.

President Bush has to attend these things to be deferential to the office of the Presidency.

What would be great would be for the cameras to catch Bush sitting with his arms crossed over his chest, his head down, and sleeping during the ceremony. He could make a statement without saying a single word.

THE OFFICIAL FREEPERS'
GEORGE BUSH / ELTON JOHN LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT SCORECARD
Bitter washed-up flaming ex rock-star earns most recent media attention for hissy fit attacks on foreign paparazzi or Currently saving the world from TROP®, one flaming radical Muslim at a time. Virgin shortages reported in some areas.
Presumed Viagra user.
Rendered impotent the last vestiges of the Kennedy Criminal-Political Organization simply by winning reelection in 2004

Bonus: Not tonight, thank you.

or Bonus: Sent John Kerry down in flames
Wrote sappy anthem to careless sleeping pill user and Kennedy-Kleenex-of-the-moment, Norma Jean Baker aka. Marilyn Monroe or

Brought heinous, brutal dictator Saddam Hussein to justice

Bonus: Upon death of fallen paparazzi / Eurotrash icon Diana Spencer, rewrote lyrics to said consummate sap-rock standard; perfromed same at funeral. Media refrained from critical examination od meaningless lyrics or

Bonus: Uday and Kusay still Ed-day.

Has trouble finding a man-date most nights. Repeated collapses under the weight of own greatness; has succumbed to drugs, alcohol again and again. Largely viewed as a cultural joke; fashion sense is considered national threat to security in some countries or Stepped up to greatest challenge faced by a President in the last 50 years, inspired a generation; secured a mandate in 2001 to save America. Secured a mandate again, overwhelmingly in 2004, to continue the fight on terror.

Bad nominees this yr. Warren Beatty?? He is a supposed contribution to culture? Elton John? The Kennedy Center nominees have been really pathetic. I bet the President was happy when that night was over. Those people are caught up in themselves. I hear that idiot P. Diddy honored Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee.

The current John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Board of Trustees is listed here:

http://www.kennedy-center.org/about/kctrustees.html

The fact that they honor members of the Performing Arts, there are bound to be many Communists among those honored. My stomach would turn only if The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts were called The Ronald W. Reagan Center for Freedom.

Do you think Prince Philip had a hard time keeping from throwing up

I never thought that that song was a tribute to Marilyn in any way, although Elton and others sure do...

The one honoree who deserved the award was John Williams. Now there is a man whose music has enriched our culture.

You don't think Warren Beatty's contributions to American cinema is impressive? Bonnie and Clyde, Mccabe and Mrs. Miller...writer, director...the guy is very talented.

If Elton had popped off...the Secret Service would have been most displeased.

So let's see, now, what's the score:

Most of our Armed Forces love Dubya.
After he rescued one of their own, most of the Secret Service loves Dubya.
Most of the NASCAR nation loves Dubya.
Most Americans to the political right of center love Dubya — and over 61,000,000 voted for him in November.
Barney loves Dubya.

Versus — what? — a few thousand hedonistic, snooty entertainment industry dolts like "Sir" (shouldn't it be Missy) Elton who hate him.

Too bad the entertainment industry needs dozens of award shows to keep feeding its collective ego. In the meantime, the President of the United States, one George W. Bush, received the best award possible on Nov. 2.
