CHRISTMAS is NOT under attack!

CHRISTMAS IS NOT THE TARGET: Much has been written and discussed in talk radio and on the internet this holiday season as to why certain decisions are being made when it comes to certain symbols of Christmas. I have seen or heard stories along these lines on all of the following topics just in the past 24 hours...

1. TARGET vs. Salvation Army
2. Macys banning "Merry Christmas"
3. Bloomingdales banning "Merry Christmas"
4. The Denver Parade of Lights banning "Christmas" floats
5. Maplewood Schools in New Jersey banning all Christmas and Hannukah music from its Winter Concert.
6. Bloomberg proclaiming the NYC no longer a Christmas tree but a holiday tree.
7. Time and Newsweek Magazines brand new issues try to dispel the "myth" of Christmas.

And the list could get much longer...

The problem is this - none of these are truly aiming at doing away with Christmas.

Let's face it - no one wants to have to go to work those days, give up the time off, not exchange presents, or drink the special Starbucks "Peppermint Mocha" that seem to all accompany the holiday!

These efforts instead are focused to attempt something much bigger in scope - eliminate all symbols of faith in the public life.

Why?

Because they threaten the possibility of the "progressive/radical/liberal" utopia that the left desires to see take hold in America.

Leftists believe that Western Europe is the most "advanced" culture on the planet. Canada has adopted most of Western Europe's characteristics and thusly also looks a lot like European countries where the majority of the population is considered little more than containers of cells as opposed to moral, spiritual, and responsible beings.

In Canada it has gotten bad.

The rates at which Candians have abandoned "any form" of faith has grown by over 16% since 1971. And since 1980 a full 39% of Canadians say that faith has no importance for them at all.

But at the same time the decline in faith observance and participation has fallen to record lows, the "progressive" elites have pushed their agenda forward faster and harder.

The results of which are not impressive.

Welfare recipients at 2x the percentage of Americans per capita.
A functionally non-existent military.
Record levels of legalized drug use.
Abortion ON DEMAND through ALL 9 MONTHS of pregnancy.
Majority of Canadians now favor same sex marriage.
And most sickening of all...the age of consent in Canada is now 14 years of age.

So in Canada at age 14 a young girl can tell her dad to take a flying leap - because she is going to go live with her 27 year old boyfriend - and the parent is powerless to stop her.

In Canada a 45 year old homosexual male can engage in sex with a 14 year old - and as long as he had consent - suffer no criminal consequences for doing so.

Educational and Societal Secular elites want America to aspire to this lofty position of "enlightenment".

Canada did it in the vaccum of declining faith or religious interest.

Progressives in America, especially smarting from the recent election where all 11 state intiatives on marriage went against them, have awakened and realized that Faith is the enemy. The holidays (which originally meant "holy" "days") and the symbols that are embraced are public expressions of faith and therefore must be snuffed out.

And because of this - it is more vital than ever for every "Season's Greetings" to be met with a kind "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hannukah". For to not do so - is to give in to the incrementalism that progressives plan to us to implement their "great society".

It is Christianity that is under attack. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we need to remember that Jesus himself told us we would be attacked and suffer because we believe in Him. As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord! When I hear "Seasons Greetings", I reply with Merry Christmas!

My family is not spending a penny with Federated Department Stores and not spending a penny with Target.

Both of these firms have way to many customers.

If works this way with our family.. If a salvation Army Volunteer is not out front, then we don't go in to shop.

"the 'progressive/radical/liberal' utopia that the left desires to see take hold in America."

Wouldn't it be easier to call them what they are? Socialists or Cultural Marxists if you will. It's their credo, destroy all religions of the nation except the "state" religion.

Why don't you just shop at their Thrift Stores? Donate there. I'd rather spend my money there since it goes to the same charity, than have some poor bell ringer out in an unsheltered breezeway getting pneumonia.

Canada is a failing socialist state. Much like an armed robber who sits in prison, not trying to improve himself but rather to figure out how he can be a more effective armed robber, Canadians are desperately trying to emulate failing countries in Europe under the mistaken idea that they can do what the Europeans never could: they can keep on taking out without putting anything back in. And I mean that financially, emotionally, physically and morally -- but most of all: spiritually. Canadian religious practice is for the most part a combination of socialistic political activism, anti-Americanism and the smug assurance that there aren't any firm rules that anybody is bound to obey -- that God is open to negotiation and, if the cheque is large enough, to look the other way.

Like socialism itself, they are finding that this trick does not work. You ought to come up here for awhile. For an American it's a lot like watching a train wreck.

I just finished a new song today that kinda goes along with what your article is talking about. It's called "Did You Forget Why There Is A Christmas"

I wrote it because it feels to me like people are trying to put an end to everything Christian in Christmas. It's kinda my round about way of reminding people why we have a Christmas in the first place.

If anyone want to listen to it or download it, it's at: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/9/gloriajanemusic.htm

You are exactly right. This is socialism revealing itsself
blatently and anyone who resists is an enemy of the state.
I proclaim myself an enemy!

It's true. Socialism makes you stupid.

When the government solves all the problems, it removes all dilemmas. It removes the need for personal responsibility. Benefits come on demand, and, if not, lobby to change the law. Morality becomes a matter of consensus, not shared value, and there is no moral authority any higher than the ballot box. What government can achieve is what is moral, and standards of personal behavior become atrophied. Soon, there is no desire for god, because all benefits flow from a benevolent state. As long as the people have their milk and honey, they don't care about much else.

This is what has kept America from sliding down the same rathole as western Europe.

Why don't you just shop at their Thrift Stores?

Being exposed to the viruses and bacteria is what makes people sick...not being outdoors in the cold. If cold temperatures caused illness, then no wild animals would live through a winter.

Standing around in freezing weather isn't good for any living thing. Why do you think that people either build houses for their pets or let them sleep inside? Or wild animals build dens?

I've read to many stories about bell-ringers being robbed. I'd rather shop at their Thrift stores. So many out of print books, hand knits, new clothes with the tags still on them and retro kitchen items.

I have a rock maple vanity table with a beveled tilting mirror that was made in the 20's that I bought for less than $30.

Roger that! In our commercial area, Salvation Army is making up for Grinch Target by having several volunteers collecting together at one of the busiest intersections in the area. It seems to be working well.

President William Henry Harrison contracted pneumonia after delivering his inaugural address outdoors in Washington's cold March weather without a hat or a coat. He lived only a month after being inaugurated.
