Maybe you could expound on your opinion instead of just saying you are sick. The news that usually makes me sick, is if a love one has been diagnosed with cancer, not that a Cabinet member is staying on.

So we will continue to keep pilots unarmed, but the new Intelligence Bill eliminates butane lighters being carried by passengers on planes. UNFRIGGIN' REAL!!

He is the worst of the Bush cabinet. Every once and a while, Bush does something that not only do I disagree with, but it makes me question his real alliances. Doesn't happen often, fortunately, but this is one of those times.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush moved to complete his second-term Cabinet on Thursday with an announcement that the heads of the transportation, labor, interior and housing departments would remain in their jobs.

The White House said Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta, Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Interior Secretary Gale Norton and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson will stay.

Bush was to announce on Thursday morning his nomination for veterans affairs, after the resignation on Wednesday of Anthony Principi.

Nine of 15 Cabinet secretaries have resigned. Bush has still to name nominees to head the Energy Department and the department of Health and Human Services.

The White House announced on Wednesday that Treasury Secretary John Snow would stay in his job, ending a frenzy of speculation about whether he would be replaced.

You know? The left is right sometimes....Bush can have moments of pure stupidity.

Keeping Mineta on is one of them.

Leaving our borders wide open is another.

not surrounding the U.N. with Tanks is another.

And why the delay in Judges? why wait untill the new year?

And wait untill Specter knifes us all in the Back.

I'm getting sick and tired of these weak-kneed, gutless

Republicans. when are they going to learn that we cant play with these democrats... they are lying snakes and

will betray us in a heartbeat...

Hey, I agree he is bad, but the devil you know is sometimes better than the devil you don't know. I think the only thing that would help the Transportaion Department is a Goss like person that would kick butt and flush out a good number of the rascals.

Seems to me that with the current upheaval/housecleaning at the CIA, the imminent appointment of a new intellegence Czar, and Dr. Rice headed to mop up the mess at the State Dept., that an overhaul of the Transportation Deparment will have to wait.

President Bush needs a token Democrat in the cabinet, M'nta is better than Albright or some other liberal talking fool.

JMHO

How has he been harmful to our national security? How many terrorist attacks have we had since 9/11? Could it be that the policies put in place by the DOT and Justice Dept. have prevented further attacks? I do not agree with many of the policies on airport security but I think those decisions come from higher up than the Secretary.

Was CFR? Yes it probably was. Yet if not for CFR, no 527's, and if not for 527's, George Soros might have spent his moeny more effectively -- and not on losers such as MoveOn, etc.. If not for 527's no Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth. If no Swifties lighting up the Truth, and no Soros-piles dumped on MoveOn -- Bush would have lost.

See? Even whan Dubya makes a mistake it's in his favor. Which makes it in our favor.

As much as I get sick of Savage's radio show some times due to how negative it is, I think the SOB is right... Having a sick family member may be unfortunate, but its effect is typically limited to their personal circle of friends. Mineta staying in his current post means continued endangerment of millions of Americans, including ALL our loved ones.

W2 isn't getting off to a very good start. He's keeping a bunch of losers, Mineta, Snow, Chao. The latter two probably have the worst political skills among all of them. But, on a brighter note, I hear that Gregory Mankiw may be headed back to the Ivory Tower. Good riddance to bad rubbish on that one.

I'm in favour of a Constitutional amendment that limits the number of agencies we can have. A good number would be 2 - department of homeland security and DoD. :)

Well, as just one example of his boneheadedness... he has stated publicly and for the record that the TSA / FAA would never under any circumstances institute any kind of racial or ethnic profiling wrt screening passengers. That's why my eight-year-old daughter is subjected to rigorous scrutiny before boarding a flight, but Mohammed Al Terrorist just strolls right through!

Well, I'm not the original poster, but...

Mineta is the one behind the insane political correctness that defines airline security procedures. Like punishing a security person should they dare to pull aside more than the allowed quota of MEM (Middle Eastern Males) for secondary inspection. Instead, they pull out elderly whites/blacks/etc., people on walkers, and pat them down, make them pull their shoes off, etc., while MEM walk through unfettered. There's more Mineta where that comes from, but that's enough for me. NOT a good cabinet retention.

THE CURSE OF NORM MINETA

Kroft: Are you saying, at security screening desks, that a 70-year-old white woman from Vero Beach, Florida, would receive the same level of scrutiny as a-a-a Muslim young man from Jersey City?

Mineta: Basically, I would hope so.
