Well, that's very good news. Here's something else for the Christmas basket:

I drove all over Silver City (NM) shopping districts the other day, purposely looking for 'Merry Christmas' signs in the shop windows.

Only found two in the whole city. Sears was one of them. (Also found three stores posting 'Feliz Navidad' signs.)

WTG, Sears.

"By law, they (employers, Sears for example) are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more."

If holding jobs open and available costs the employer money, then such a law is unconstitutional.

Amendment V

...nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation.

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES

No. 98—963 JEREMIAH W. (JAY) NIXON, ATTORNEY GENERAL OF MISSOURI, et al., PETITIONERS v. SHRINK MISSOURI GOVERNMENT PAC et al.

ON WRIT OF CERTIORARI TO THE UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE EIGHTH CIRCUIT [January 24, 2000]

Justice Stevens:

"I make one simple point. Money is property;"

Without corresponding tax and compensation mechanism for private property owners, such a law is unconstitutional.

As "conservatives," which implies conservation of the constitution, I would think you would not want to support such a law.

They are also donors to "Extreme Home Make-over" (I am always squalling at the end of the show.)

Plus Ty Pennington does their commercials ;)

I just bought a fabulous Bosch dishwasher at Sears for a great price, and just ordered snow gear for all my kids from Lands' End. I have been eyeing a game table for my kids. Now I will go buy it at Sears. Will also get some Craftsman tools for the Mr. for Christmas.

Makes me feel a little better about all we've just spent there... dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, toolchest, garage door opener... I got the new house blues! OK, finally owning a home is actually a great feeling, except now being totally broke!

I love Sears, found this out about them when our soldiers first started going. Have been going out of my way to shop there, and my nephew and husband are both getting ALL their christmas presents (tools) from Sears!

Thanks for this info. I'll do the rest of my shopping for Christmas there and buy appliances for the house remodeling there. And I'll tell them why they are getting my business.

Sears is one of my favorite stores. I just hope Kmart doesn't ruin it.

Remember, that Sears and K-Mart have merged. Their goal is to give WalMart a run for the money. We can get even with those suckers from Bentonville and benefit Sears for their good deeds toward Reservists with each purchase made at Sears. Go get 'em! Make this the best Christmas season sales Sears has ever known. Go for it!

I just dropped $600.00 on new tires for my F-150 at Sears. I think I'll start to frequent Sears more often from now on.

Well, I was cutting Target out of my list of stores to shop this year. Guess I'll ADD Sears.

Way to go, Sears!

This is great news! Especially when Federated stores, Filenes and Macy's are deleting any and all mention of Christmas from their 'holiday' brochures and catalogs. Smoke coming out of my ears. God forbid we should honor Jesus in any way shape or fashion. By New Year's the Ten Commandments will be considered bad form. O'Reilly's been talking about this during this past week. It's really a Trojan horse deal. We delete our religion and welcome Islam. Then before you know it, it's goodbye US of A.

And don't forget that Sears now owns Land's End. I'm placing an order tonight for a dozen 100% cotton oxford cloth dress shirts.
