Kerry to travel to Iraq, meet with troops
Boston Globe ^ | December 9, 2004 | Glen Johnson

Well, okay I made the last part up. I guess Kerry doesn't realize yet that his vision of the war on terrorism was invalidated by last month's election. PARTIAL EXCERPT: Senator John F. Kerry, who rooted his unsuccessful presidential campaign in an alternate vision of the Iraqi occupation, will visit that nation next month during a swing through the Middle East.

The Massachusetts Democrat is to meet with National Guard troops from Massachusetts, other active-duty armed forces personnel, and others during the tour. The dates of his travel, the length of his stay, and his exact itinerary were being withheld for security purposes.

''He's going because he wants to thank the troops from Massachusetts," said Kerry spokeswoman April Boyd. ''While he's there, he'll also be meeting with military commanders, embassy officials, and Iraqi government leaders. The purpose will be to discuss the war in Iraq and the war on terrorism."

Elections in Iraq are scheduled for Jan. 30. During the US presidential campaign, Kerry warned that the Iraqi elections would be hampered if the security situation in the country did not improve.

Following that trip, he condemned President Bush and his administration for backing out of the Middle East peace process. He also argued that his personal relationships with the leaders, built over a 20-year career on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, left him in better standing than Bush to win the leaders' support as the United States sought multinational support for the occupation and postwar reconstruction.

During his presidential campaign, Kerry pledged that, as president, he would travel to the United Nations as well as the Middle East to open a new chapter in US foreign relations.

He just wants to be ready in case "Plan B" works (pay 17 of the Bush electors $10 million apiece to vote for him).

He'll tell them they are fighting the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I wish I were there to heckle him and hold up a big sign telling him that he is in the wrong place at the wromg time.

The fact that the tyaxpayers are paying for this isnt being broadcast far and wide either.

Watch out!

The traitor is going overseas AGAIN!

He's NOT going to help our troops.

He wouldn't even fund them when he had a chance.

watch out!

Kerry is going to slither around until he finds a "disgruntled national guard member " who was "forced" to stay in theater longer than he expected, and then sKerry will have a big news conference and have AlGore come over and scream "Bush LIED to us!" and Teddy will be there and scream "LIAR!" and the MSM will carry it every 10 minutes for 12 days (meanwhile, Iraq will have held elections, established a government and opened 15 MCDonalds, but no one will have noticed because "Bush LIED to us!"....
