when I have been in Tampa/Largo, I drive around with my wife and say "publix" over and over again...I dont know why though....

Meanwhile, the local Publix is closed on Christmas. And do you remember what a big deal it was when Publix announced they were going to open on Sundays? If I recall, this was back in the 70s--my grandmother was so upset about this, she stopped shopping there.

Here in Spain everything is closed on Sundays. Well, almost everything, tourist souvenir shops are usually open and of course restaurants.
There are several sundays during the year that the government OKs, and stores can be open. i don't know if it's such a good system either.

Another business that remains open are hotels. Fortunately having worked at one for the last Fifteen years. I normally just take the week off. :o)
Last Christmas the only thing we found open in my sisters town was a Walgreen's. Even Wal*Mart was closed. locally here only 7-11 will be open.
