Well the KGB would prefer not to kill,to silence whom it wishes to stop. Often threats or extortion do the trick. The question assumes whoever did this wanted to kill Yushchenko. Perhaps with plenty of scientific data on the poison and it's most likely outcome, it was determined not to kill but to make him sick, maybe to sick to continue the election.
Now that spounds like a plan one could push through the directorate./grin Honestly though, I don't know, it's certainly possible the KGB dreamed up this act,also it could have been anyone in power, in such a controlled government and media as the Ukraine was,and expect to getaway.

I still say it was KGB... Too much interest shown on Putin's part. If not the KGB then another body of the similar ilk that's sympathetic to Yanukovych. The first thing they need to figure out is the where and when. That in my opinion would radically reduce the "could be's".

Then again you can't look past waiters and the like... who was on staff at the state functions, etc... Way too much to go into here, but he didn't do it to himself... If he did poison himself and his wife tasted it on his lips when he was kissing her I highly doubt he would tell her not to worry about it... He probably wouldn't have let her kiss him at all if that was the case, ya know?

Remember it was Yanukovych's campaign staff that spoke of the "bad sushi" before they even knew what was wrong...

Thank you for your post. God, it amazes me how otherwise rational people believe any garbage the MSM prints about another nation. If they believe the MSM on this (and convininetly ignore the Soros/EU connections, the "spontaneous" nature of the demonstration equiped with stages, sound systems and plasma screens with rock stars playing while manufactured orange clothing with slogans and tents are handed out) then why do they not believe the MSM that Kerry won? That Iraq is the wrong war and is a quagmire? That Bush is an idiot? That the Red State are just fly over states, etc?

If we're going on the conspiracy trail, what better way then to poison your own candidate (and every EU spy network is in on this, Soros and his cohorts and tons of other) not enough to kill or even cause permenant injury but enough to show a topical change, then blame it on the opposition and garner the sympathy of the left MSM and the sheeple that believe everything those kings of virtue tell them.

I believe Al Sharpton tried something on a smaller scale, being arrested while traspassing, resisting arrest, being a bit roughed up and then screaming of Bush's evil goons.
