Bush has chosen retired Gen. Tommy Franks, who oversaw combat in Afghanistan and the initial invasion of Iraq, former CIA Director George Tenet and former Iraq administrator L. Paul Bremer to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The president will hand out the awards at a White House ceremony Dec. 14, press secretary Scott McClellan said.

Tenet's incompetence doesn't need elaboration.
It's the "new tone in Washington," or affirmative action for bureaucrats.
Perhaps but if this is "New" I want the "Old" back ASAP. We need accountability and a proper rewards system if we are to succeed IMHO.
But he should get credit for going to work everyday for a year wearing the largest bulls-eye in the world.
My thoughts exactly!

THERE IS NO ONE MORE DESERVING OF THE MEDAL OF FREEDOM THAN RUSH LIMBAUGH. I URGE ALL YOU FREEPERS WHO AGREE TO E-MAIL THE WHITE HOUSE. RUSH HAS DONE MORE TO ENLIGHTEN AMERICANS THAN ANYONE.

Sorry.
In my opinion, Bush should appoint Tommy Franks to be the Secretary of Homeland Security. He'd be an excellent choice now that Kerik has dropped out of the running.
Incompetence gets medals all the time: I give you Kerry.
Yeah but at least Kerry had to actually do something, like lie, make up his own after action reports, shoot himself in the A$$, etc. These guys just sat back and accepted the praise.
I guess you can say that Kerry was at the least "inventive".LOL

...President BUSH deserves a noble peace PRIZE. But will the commies in STOCKHOLM award him, I don't think so?

Yes, that's YOUR opinion.
You have the right to be wrong.
Carry on.
As do you - Blanket statements of certitude in ones position do not foster reasonable debate or further the process of communication.
I agree--and I responded in kind to that very tone encompassed in your initial blanket statement.
I would give one to John Ashcroft, if for no other reason, than to drive the left nuts.
LOL - In many ways IMO he is more deserving than two of the three that were honored.
Rewarding Tenet with this honor is like giving Jimmie Carter the Nobel Peace Prize. This has to be a joke - right?
Rick Rescorla should be awarded this medal, no question about it.
Bush's judgment leaves a lot to be desired.
Bush 41 honored Ted Kennedy with an award for excellence in gov't service or something like that. That is Bush family judgment and values. Those are their people.
He's pictured on the cover of the 'We Were Soldiers' book. He was part of the battle of the Ia Drang. He then went on to work in security in the World Trade Center and was killed on 9/11 as he made sure to get everybody he could out but died himself.
Yes! I'm embarrassed - He was certainly deserving of this - Didn't remember the name but should have.
That's an excellent suggestion.
