A top Islamic cleric in Kuwait has accused the Jews of manipulating the Koran. “Jews have taken verses out of the Koran and now want to distribute a false version,” said Dr. Mohammad Abdulrazek al Tabtabaei, dean of the College of Islamic Studies at the University of Kuwait. He told the Kuwaiti newspaper Arab Times that an unknown Jewish group took 50 verses out of the Koran and tried to spread the new version throughout the Islamic world.
Al Tabtabaei called on every Moslem who has this version of the Koran to destroy it immediately. “The Jews did not stop,” he said, “until they succeeded in forging our holy book so that they could steal the truth from us.
Don't fret, Mohammad. We just snipped out the fifteen or twenty thousand little goofy bits about how Allah wants you to "kill every single Jew within a zillion mile radius" in order to be a good Muslim, is all.
We still left in all the parts about how it's okay to lay pipe with seven-year-old boys and whatnot... so: the cornerstone of your "faith" is still securely in place.
Funny--a Quran expert admitting that Muslims can't tell a fake passage from a real one. I guess that's why Muslims are so stupid that they need clerics to explain it all to them.
Particularly the parts about murder, beheadings, suicide and homicides, female mutilations, and 72 virgins rewards. No rational person would ever figure that part out without the help of Islamic clerics.

Okay, let's submit, everything is always Bush's fault, or by default, the blood-draining Jews.
Nothing is ever the fault of Islamists. That's got to be written in a Sura somewhere because that's the SOP of CAIR these days.
Now I'm curious. What are they supposed to have taken out? The Satanic verses?
I confess that I've glanced at parts of the Quran but have not tried to read it. The whole thing is a mixed-up mess. Some Muslims are supposed to have the whole thing by heart, and maybe they could tell. But there doesn't seem to be much continuity or logic to the way passages are stuffed together.
It's completely unlike anything in the Bible.

My brother was a pastor for one of the larger pentecostal denominations. He would routinely announce that "today's reading comes from the book of Hezekiah" or some such, just to see how many people started shuffling pages in their Bibles. You'd be stunned how many Christians don't know what books are in the Bible.
I'm confused.

Are they secretly printing millions of korans and then sneaking into mosques and pulling a switcheroo when no one is looking?

Funny how there's no outcry about the deliberately anti-Christian "The Jesus Seminar" or deliberately homosexual mistranslations of the Bible....
I busted him in Sunday School class one day... he asked me to read from the Book of Armaments, Chapter Two, verses nine through twenty one... He expected me to just laugh, but instead I opened my Bible to somewhere near the middle and began, "And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that, with it, Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits in Thy mercy.'"
