Fox News is reporting that McCain is again considering a White House run .. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,141278,00.html .. let's take a vote .. consider year 2008.
1) a. McCain b. Hillary 2) a. McCain b. Jeb 3) a. McCain b. Frist 4) a. McCain b. Obama 5) a. McCain b. Forbes
McCain - never.
McCain will be like 95 in '08....he's too old.
a.) A Republican. b.) McCain
Too easy. I'm not sure he will have that much competition on the Republican side, though. Jeb's already ruled out a run.
Agreed. Reagan was older but Ronnie was one of a kind.
Forbes/McCain if no better combination
I prefer Forbes over McCain for president.
Well..if that happens..I reckon I won't even bother to vote.
2) a. McCain b. Jeb : Jeb (Bush, I presume)
3) a. McCain b. Frist : Frist
4) a. McCain b. Obama : (Osama or Obama? - abstain either way.)
5) a. McCain b. Forbes : Forbes
I don't trust McCain.
I really hope he isn't the '08 candidate. Just my opinion, but I don't think he's going to get that far.
My extremely premature guess is that in 2008 I will vote for whoever strikes me as most likely to actually enforce immigration law. I don't know McCain's stand on the issue.
Also the fact that......... HE'S NUTS!!!
6) Condi Rice vs. Hillary
Too early for that now...I need to concentrate on giving the DUmmies and their ilk heartburn
;-)
That's not true.
He'll run GOP or not at all.
Lou Dobbs is a good man. McCain is too creepy -- something just ins't quite right, same with John Kerry.
I guarentee I will never vote for McCain for President.
Laying my foot down on this one. I can handle someone that isn't 'perfect' on all conservatives issues. I will never vote for someone who's integrity is about as low as Hillary's.
I doubt McCain could win the primaries. He's stabbed too many grassroot conservatives/Republicans in the back. IMO, he'd be better to served to run as a Democrat. I think he could beat Hill as a Dem in their primaries.
A lot can happen in 4 years. The only name I expect to be still around will be Hillary. That is, unless her ties to Marc Rich and the Oil for Food scandal get exposed.
I like and respect many things about John McCain. The other things are enough to keep me from voting for him for president.
You got that right ONYX. Let's enjoy the next THREE years of George W Bush before worrying about 2008. My pick for 2008 is between Gov. Mitch Romney or any other governor who has charisma, can think on his feet, is a fiscal conservative, social moderate. Forget the likes of Forbes, I do not want us to lose in a landslide to democRATS.
McCain will not win the nomination. He has been an opportunists sending mixed signals, first attacking Bush for exposing Kerry and then praising Bush...what a hypocrite. McCain does not have my vote. Forget Pataki and Giuliani, forget Jeb in 2008 (maybe 2012). Bill Frist is too bland, so expect a Governor to be nominated for the GOP...I envision Tom Ridge, Tommy Thompson, Rick Santorum, Condoleeza, Mark Racicot and surprise surprise J.C. Watts to seriously think about running.
We slept in 1985, and we ended up with Bush I in 1989, and Clinton in 1992.
What ARE you talking about?
Not making a prediction, just pointing out a possibility: Hillary will switch parties and run for the GOP nomination in 2008, with McCain as her running mate.
If that was her only route to the White House she'd stab the Dems in the back in a heart beat.
That would certainly be one of the more entertaining episodes in American political history.....
Now it's my turn to agree with you.
IF we're going to begin looking now,
"look" to charismatic GOP governors.
She's already become an evangelical Christian, why not a Republican? Plenty of Democrats would vote in the GOP primaries to make sure she got the nomination. I think it is a real possibility.
Absolutely not.
The democrat nomination is hers for the asking.
Worse than that...she became a YANKEE FAN!!
Exactly
Unfortunately with the exception of rep Tancrido, not a single elected politician is for stopping illegal immigration. Buchanan does not count, he was never elected to anything.
come back down to earth, senator.
Of course the moonbats want McCain to run...he's cannon fodder! The guy has more skeletons in his closet than anyone (other than Hillary!). They will build him up and tear him down.
then it'd be Hillary v Kerry! /shudder
"We need to start thinking about what conservative can run in 08 and stop McCrazy."
Condi.
Doug Forrester.
1) McCain 2) Jeb (he's not running though) 3) Frist (scared he can't win a general though) 4) McCain 5) Forbes (could never win though)
McCain is not my first choice by any means (that is Mitt Romney), but I'm realistic enough to know that I'd rather have him as President than anybody the Democrats will put up. I won't vote for him in a primary. But if he's the nominee, I will wholeheartedly support him in the general election.
The democrat nomination is not what she wants. She wants to be President. If she could get enough crossover to win the GOP nomination, she could easily defeat the Democrat challenger (to your point). Like I said, I'm not predicting, just pointing out a possibility.
Concerning AZ Prop 200: "Opponents include major political figures such as Gov. Janet Napolitano, U.S. Sen. John McCain and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. They argue that Proposition 200 would not stem the flow of illegal aliens, could lead to discrimination based on appearance and ethnicity and could cost the state $27 million in federal funds."
He can not be counted on.
Rice/Tancredo '08!
That's just not true.
I'll stay home if mclame heads the ticket.
She'll run and win as a democrat or not at all.
GOP voters won't like her and democrats would hate
her for changing parties.
Amen!
The two are good canidates. Both polished and consertive christians. They will be my choice unless something else comes up.
