The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua's day was 23 hours and 20 minutes .

Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes!

Twenty-three hours and 20 minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in Second Kings make the missing day in the universe!

There's only one problem with this. The rotation of the Earth...one day...is exactly 23 hours, 59 minutes and 56 seconds.

Not 24 hours.

Harold Hill was President of Curtis Engine until 1973. Harold passed away in 1986.

Curtis Engine & Equipment, Inc. does not substantiate or continue Harold's personal research. Unfortunately, we have no information concerning the "Missing Day" nor do we have any connections at NASA who would be able to corroborate Harold's claims.

If anyone is interested in science confirming Biblical miracles read Immanuel Velikovsky's 'Worlds in Collision.' It's an astonishing book that only now the scientific community is beginning to embrace.

The more atheists dig into science to disprove the existence of God and make the Bible into a hoax, they only succeed in proving there is a God who knows the beginning from the end and everything in between, and that modern science only confirms that the Word Of God is true.

"If you seek me with your whole heart, you will find Me." --GOD

P.S. Even if that search is to disprove the truth as scientists see it.

I'm a Christian, and I believe the Bible is the word of God. However...

This story is full of so many holes, it's truly sad. It's a myth, and an old one at that. No computer would find such a thing because they work on data we have accumulated and put into them. So unless you believe that someone was recording astronomical data to input into computers several thousand years ago...Well, you get the picture.

This kind of thing just makes Christians look silly. Please don't spread it around any more.

Sorry to be so blunt, but there it is.

There's only one problem with this. The rotation of the Earth...one day...is exactly 23 hours, 59 minutes and 56 seconds.

That depends on what you consider "one day." Is it when the rotates around relative to the sun or to the stars? A solar day is 4 minutes longer than a sidereal day. A sidereal day is 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4.091 seconds.

The last part of this story was left out

Send this to 5 friends and you will marry your crush
Send this to 10 friends and you will win the lotto
send this to 0 friends and you will die!

Velikovsky is the worst kind of psuedo-science. The idea that the major planets of the solar system were the product of astronomical collisions is not only fanciful, but also unsupported. Continuing planetary observation is accumulating evidence upon evidence that the planets just did not form that way...

That depends on what you consider "one day."

The day that I consider a "day" is the day that is used to calculate our calendars. The one that requires a leap day every 4 years to keep things on the beam.

Now if you want to have a really interesting discussion...how long was a "day" back in the Book of Genesis?

I have to go to bed. So feel free to discuss among yourselves.

You're right. This one came in from a normally believable, reliable source. I'll be more careful next time. Sorry, folks!

"This kind of thing just makes Christians look silly. Please don't spread it around any more."

I agree with you. As much as I would like to be able to quote one of these stories as fact, I know them to be "urban legends."

I do know one thing to be true, although I can't "prove" it.
I know that one day, "every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord."
