Denver: Let's Rethink This Whole Anti-Christmas Thing
Newsradio 850 KOA & 630 KHOW ^ | 13 Dec 2004 | Gunny Bob

Posted on 12/13/2004 2:29:42 PM PST by GunnyBob

I just received an email from Jim Basey, president of the Downtown Denver Partnership. After my final warning that my audiences would soon be refusing to spend any money at the Partnership's businesses unless the Partnership's anti-Christian policies were changed regarding the Parade of Lights, Mr. Basey wrote me a very nice email apologizing for all the ruckus and informing me that the Partnership would soon have a meeting to fix what they broke.

Mr. Basey will be on my show either tonight or tomorrow night (7-10PM MT M-F) to express his regrets over this policy and to announce that a meeting is being set up to solve the problem.

I want to thank everyone who put pressure on the DDP to mend their misguided ways. And I want to thank Mr. Basey for seeing the light.

Gunny Bob, out

Maybe they should start by renaming it from the Parade of Lights to the Christmas Parade.

Its sad that it has come to this, but if that is what it takes, then so be it.

If it weren't for talk radio and the internet they'd be getting away with murdering Christmas and everything else Christian. My daughter's pastor told the congregation that the most important issue in the elections was the Supreme Court....probably the whole congregation voted for Bush because of this. My thought was that it's about time that Christians started fighting back. Unfortunately, turning the other cheek will only result in the majority being marginalized.

Upon hearing this news, the ACLU has moved the Holiday Alert Threat Level to "Caroling"...

I will continue to boycott denver as long as they keep taking more than their share of the Interstate Highway fund to make their own "main street" I 25

The once "silent majority," because of the Internet, has the ability to be heard BETWEEN elections.

Sounds like "too little, too late". The Denver parade won't be a fun party for either 'one' or the 'other', now after all of this bickering. I couldn't even find WRAPPING PAPER with a religious images. I'm sick of Rudolph and Santa Claus, and am ready to throw it ALL out the door- it ain't Christmas it there isn't some of the religious heritage that made it so honoring.

Unfortunately, the response should have come directly from the member merchants explaining that it would take a few days to respond. . . since the former leadership which came to this abysmal decision had been canned!

This is encouraging. Logic and reason are on the Christian side. As long as we make it clear to them that their fear of offending a minority is offending the majority. Well,

"I'm mad as Zell and I ain't gonna take it anymore!"

A silent majority gets walked on. I'm sick of being walked on!
