Hmmm . . . Is it fair to just go to their webpage and see if they mention Christmas? For instance, Macys does.

It was people being kind to each other. The way they USED to be. Helping each other. Strangers helping each other. The good ole days! And the days after 9/11, we all remembered again what faith, hope, and charity were! I pray that during this Holy Season, we remember what Love really is.

Hmmm . . . Is it fair to just go to their webpage and see if they mention Christmas? For instance, Macys does.I suppose that would have to count, since thousands of people must surely see it. If you think a company expresses a "Merry Christmas" Spirit," give em a plug.

I'm talking about the American Santa Claus. He looks nothing like Saint Nicolas. I've never seen a Santa at the mall in a bishop's miter
Here's Snopes' take on it:
Coca-Cola had a great deal to do with establishing Santa Claus as a ubiquitous Christmas figure in America at a time when the holiday was still making the transition from a religious observance to a largely secular and highly commercial celebration. In an era before color television (or commercial television of any kind), color films, and the widespread use of color in newspapers, it was Coca-Cola's magazine advertisements, billboards, and point-of-sale store displays that exposed nearly everyone in America to the modern Santa Claus image. Coca-Cola certainly helped make Santa Claus one of the most popular men in America.

Kwanzaa.. Grrrr.. I went to a "holiday light display" in our town last night with my Mom(it was her Birthday).. you know, purty lights at the speedway. Light displays that you drive through (not for me but..). The second display in was a "Happy Kwanzaa" display. There were the 12 days of .. oh! they forgot **that word** on the signs, got the 12 days right though. And don't forget the dinosaurs in lights, because nothing says **that word** like dinosaurs. Then to top it off we went under the "Happy Holiday" arch. In the whole display **that word** was never seen. It was the cheesiest, PC, left coast hunk of advertisement I have ever seen. I bit my tongue and let Mom have fun, but I was left with the impression that it is the season of Kwanzaa where dinosaurs and snowmen sing about 12 days of something...
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

While I agree that Coca Cola does a good job (by and large) with its Christmastime advertising, just remember that Yassir Arafat made a BUNCH of money off of his Coca Cola bottling plant in Ramallah which funded, in part, homicide bombers.

. . . just remember that Yassir Arafat made a BUNCH of money off of his Coca Cola bottling plant in Ramallah which funded, in part, homicide bombers.Please. I don't think Santa worked there, nor do I believe he packed bombs for Hamas or Hezbellah. ( Giving you a very Merry Christmas smile )
I think most of us simply wish to encourage a return to "Merry Christmas" in this thread.

Dec.26 It's a let down after one gets neato presents for christmas. And let us not forget: Christmas is a time of love and joy and brotherhood and peace...
...but at 12:01 AM, December 26th, it's back to "Up yers, buster!"
;o)
