He was retired.
And why most people hate them; especially those with open pipes.
Several times I had to leave my bike in the bar.
One time I left it parked on the street and went back the next morning to find it missing. My heart sunk; till I found out it had been carried into the bar for safe keeping.
See my Post 22
Now just WHY do you feel it necessary to defend this kind of behaviour from those who are supposed to UPHOLD the law? I hate hypocrisy...and the Orwellian double-standards that have permeated this nation!
There was a whole lota drinkin' goin' on here!
The retired detective probably consumed between 15 and 20 "drinks" over the course of this event, depending on how long the event lasted, to reach his BAC.
For example:
20 U.S. beers in 6 hours for a 230 pound male.
17 U.S. beers in 3 hours

Why are you on this site?
To answer stupid questions. Next please.
Thye didn't feel a thing ~ Boom ~ Bump!
I remember there were a lot of them on the thread about the sportbikes that 'made' an SUV crash by cutting him off. It was a post about a month ago. It was the one where the 16 year old driving an SUV was run off the road by sportbikes doing wheelies. Further investigation showed that the SUV was following from behind... I can dig up the posts if you want. :)
When I heard of this I thought his name sounded familiar. His brother and father go to our church.
Find one that was not a retalitory remark by a bike owner and I'll never post again!!!
Still waiting.....:-)
Note to self: As a general rule, avoid patronizing any establishment with "Bar and Grill" in its name. ;)
Sorry to hear that.

Squids are the idiots riding sport bikes. The type of bike where you're leaned over with most of your weight on your wrists, you're crotch is up against the gas tank, and you feet are tucked up under your ass. In short, you look like you're humping a football.
Watch Biker Boyz for a quick primer on squid behavior.

Looks like a retalitory statement to me!
But if you think that it qualifies. OK. Bye-Bye I'm outta here. It's been fun.
I say "no it is not" the end of the story. I realize these things seem to happen all the time and besides being swept under the rug there is planned a funeral with full honors. This is a retired officer who put a whole lot at risk on his own time and stupidly paid with his and his wives lives. Honor him with the respect due his memory but to give full honors,(what I've seen is full uniformed officers lining the road with spit polished cars running lights, etc.) is out of line considering the way he died. Just my humble opinion open to flames.
Your timeout is up. Welcome back to FR! :)
Holy shit. How could this guy even get up on his Harley? and how did his passenger stay on?
No it's not.
They were LAX airport cops. Not LAPD.
A-r-r-r-g-h! I'm not a flamer nor in the mood to start but for someone to try to deny this idiot his "full honors" would require some sort of judgment against a dead person. Not a very popular decision, even if the idiot deserved to be denied such. I can imagine those lining the street as you say, laughing as the coffin goes by with images of him on his Harley smokin' out the bar.
"The dude" got his ceremony in spite of his stupidity. Too bad his name wasn't Lebowski, hey?
