Okay. You win. We are spending billions of dollars trying to correct mis-behavior in that country. Siphoniong a few billion barrels of oil to PAY for the IRAQUI peoples is a bad plan?

Ever been in the oil business? Oh, It's all about Bush and Hallibuton. That's the ticket. Free the wales and kum-ba-ya.

Some people need to take some economics classes instead of driving school busses.

I voted for Bush, and would Vate the same given the same choices, but this is NOT what I expected him to do.

I'm really fed up with Both Parties.

No you're not. You already said you'd vote for these big-spending idiots all over again.

Republicans seem either unwilling or completely unable to learn.

I gotta pay capital gains this year.

Me too. Picture our money, stolen from us by Big Stupid Government, being pureed in a big blender, then poured out onto the sands of Iraq.

Because that's exactly what will be done with our money.

Holy shi'ite, Batman! There are a bunch around here that do not believe that the Iraqis should pay for their freedom. If it were not for us, they'd be in deep sh!t. to begin with, (or with which to begin). Iraq is a very wealthy natural resource of crude oil. Some folks believe that we should not harvest this/their resource to pay for saving Iraqi lives. Check out a few threads here. The mentality is so shallow, it is beyond belief.

Four billion is such a small amount for establishing a new democracy in the Middle East

"democracy", my butt. It was a tyrannical sh%$hole before and will become so again.

We'd better be getting some oil for this...

You forgot your < /sarcasm > tag, didn't you?

We will be buying the oil, at OPEC prices. What the hell does Bush care? It's not his money he's squandering. Just like the last four years.

I'm supposed to believe that pro-war "conservatives" are interested in doing this for the Iraqi people? After all the posts, on this and other threads, referring to "sand-lizards" and "camel jockeys" and "ragheads" and their "moon god"?

Somehow, I'm still not convinced we're there to liberate Iraqis, or to do a thing for them. I just don't feel a lot of love emanting from these boards for Iraqis.

For instance, if we'd liberated them, then they'd get to decide whether to not to do business with our industries, or instead, with French or German industries. The choice would be up to the Iraqis, and not to us. Instead, we have the Bush administration dictating whether or not France or Germany may do business with the supposedly "liberated" Iraqi people.

Which is why I'm a libertarian/paleocon, and not a Bushie.

The road I travel to the county seat has two narrow one lane bridges on it. I think I'll send them a letter and ask if I can make a donation to help fix those rather than put money in the socialist coffer so it can be sent to Iraq. What do ya think?

Oh wait, I already helped to pay for that road.

Man, I'm running out of options. I guess Iraq does need the money after all.

A voice of reason. As long as they have oil, why not give us some, or for a discounted price? (I understand they will need to have revenue to rebuild their country and we are not to do anything to hurt them, but for pity sakes...)We should be natural that we develop a comnfortable trade partnership after all we have done together. That's MHO.

I agree the spending needs to be decreased. And why on earth should this oil be going through OPEC? Time to break that baby down...

For such a huge issue this thread has hardly any replies. Funny eh?

What's next... Invade Iran and then give them $100,000,000,000?

Don't forget to add the Libertarians to the list:

The Libertarian Party:
http://www.lp.org/

But we went through this exercise in 2000/2002 - we know the Republicans are Big Government sellouts; we've known that since 1996 and Oldbob Dole.

But instead of demanding accountability and real strangling of Big Stupid Government in exchange for reelection, Bushie was given a pass. "most important election of our lives", "Kerry will sell us out to the UN", "if you don't vote Republican, the terrorists will win", "mmmmmmm . . . . Koolaid!" All that crap. Ostrich voting.

Not me; I was done with Big Stupid Government politicians years ago.

Kerry WOuld have sold us out to the UN amd so will Hillary!! If Kerry would have won, we would have been turning in our Hunting Rifles and shotguns. Our Eletist reps have entered into treaties and pacts with the UN Gangsters that agree that we will be disarmed. Oh Yes!!

Watch out this will be a good indicator that it is a little to late to do anything about anything. We as AMericans know that if we want a weapon they will not stop us from getting it. The European Socialist form of Government and the total Destruction of our Constitutional Republic.

I figure that the Congress will reconcien in Jan. They are saying that they will pass strong legislation to protect our borders. Thaat's not going ot be good enough, Classes for Wall Construction 101 will be conviening in Isreal.

If the Congress will not act in a strong defense of our Constitution and in defense of this country, then mass registration to a third party to send them a message. This doesn't mean oyu HAVE to VOTE for that party, it's just a registration change. You can reregister at anytime. ijust think it would scare the hell out of them! There are a lot of Pro AMerican Dems out there too.

It was odious debt. I don't believe the Iraqis were under any obligation to repay it.

No, that's not a viable altrnative.
The globo-financial institutions who are pulling the puppet strings would never permit it.
It is more likely that they'd insist on forced divestiture of our assests. Perhaps Japan would get Hawaii and portions of our West Coast, China would get Alaska and our oil resources, Mexico would get portions of our southwestern states from Texas to California, Florida would go to Brazil...

Something like that, anyway. Who knows exactly how our creditors will divvy up the spoils? Dubya certainly wouldn't oppose the plan after he worked so hard to help them implement it, that's for sure.

It might not be a good idea to hold our breath.

I'm sure all the right people will get their "share".

It just won't be you or me.

It would be pretty hypocritical after strong arming all of those other nations to write off Iraq's debt and then have us not do the same. It is quite amazing how stupid some people have demonstrated themselves to be on this thread -- some are no surprise, some are.
