"So next time Mr. Polite comes upon something he finds politically objectionable, maybe he should just keep his mouth shut."

The author got one thing right, anyway.

"For what chance,do you think, did Polite ever have of actually ramming something through city council prohibiting political expression in public spaces ? In reality I'd say his prospects were about zero. "

This clown talks about Conservatives not facing reality and then writes something like this with a straight face. You have Council members in California handing out Bush assassination leaflets, members in New York wanting pictures of George Washington removed from city hall, teachers being suspended for posting pictures of George Bush in her classroom. I'd say his prospects are good because he still has three things on his side, even if liberals are now the minority, the Mainstream Media and all the useful idiots that follow them like lost sheep and the cowards of politics who vote by polls and not principles. Not to mention that just the fact that this Polite loser would want to ban political expression in public places shows just why Gill Smart and your liberal losers are just that, losers

From Neil Boortz' original story:

HOW DO WE ELECT DANGEROUS IDIOTS LIKE THIS?

The brain-dead, idiotic, disgusting, anti-American, childish, can't-get-over-it politician of the day is one Nelson Polite, a member of the Lancaster, Pennsylvania city council. Thankfully this jerk will rise no further up the political ladder. Even Democrats think he's a fool.

Polite is upset because of David Stoltzfus who runs a baked goods stand at the local city market. Stoltzfus has a picture of President Bush hanging in the stand. Polite is a Democrat. Polite made a trip to visit Stoltzfus to tell him that he and other Lancaster Democrats are "offended" by the picture of President Bush, and he wants it taken down immediately. Stoltzfus told him no. Now Polite says he is going to ask for a new city ordinance that would make the posting of any political material, including a picture of the President of the United States on city property illegal. Polite says "there should be rules."

Yeah ... in America there should be rules which prevent an American citizen from posting a picture of the President of the United States in his place of business.

Where do people like Nelson Polite come from?

Just in case you are someone who collects addresses of city council members from around the country, here's one you may be interested in.

This guy Polite has obviously gone over the edge, thinking that "separation of church and state" also means "separation of politics and state."

Which means that ever photo, painting, award, document, or other political object in City Hall be removed post haste.

For what chance, do you think, did Polite ever have of actually ramming something through city council prohibiting political expression in public spaces? In reality, I’d say his prospects were about zero.

For what chance, do you think, did the ACLU ever have of actually ramming something through city council prohibiting religious expression in public spaces? In reality, I’d say his prospects were about 100%.

Not so rhetorical now, is it?

"No, they live in a fantasy land where, despite the fact that they control all three branches of the federal government and a majority of state governorships, they are somehow oppressed."

Oh, how I wish that this were true! MUCH of the time, the President acts as a conservative. MOST of the time, we have the House. The Senate is firmly in the control of Dims and RINO's. The federal judiciary is a left-wing nutball organization. Someone is living in a fantasy land, but it's not conservatives.

Gil:
Let me see if I can explain this to you:
What conseratives object most to in this Nelson Polite case is the pervasive attitude among Dimocrats, whether they are in the minority or in the majority, that they should be able to restrict someone else's right to self-expression, as Nelson wanted to do.

This is still an issue because of the large number of "activist" Dimocrat judges at all levels of the judiciary in this country, judges who are all too willing to conjure up a "right" at the behest of some aggrieved party.

This type thing is nothing like the rule of law, or the application of the Constitution, but is all about the abuse of power, just like Mr. Polite wanted to do.

Maybe Polite should have kept his mouth shut to begin with? or if he did not like the sign, went somewhere else to shop?

I’ve even heard from Lancaster County conservatives who don’t read the local papers, don’t watch the local news and have never been to a city council meeting ... ."

This is all you need to know to confirm that this writer is full of BS. Conservatism is based on facts - as opposed to liberalism being based on emotion - and no conservative makes himself ignorant by burying his head in the sand.

“Besides, says [Polite], “Bush didn’t win here (in Lancaster City). It is like rubbing salt on a wound.”

Although he denies it later in this article, is there any doubt that imPolite believes it would have been okay for a vendor to display a Kerry photo – maybe a nice one of the spineless one kissing Teresa! – since Kerry won Lancaster City? Of course not.

But as we see time and time again, conservatives don’t inhabit reality.

No, conservatives define reality.
