For the party that seraches for and celebrates victims to charge the GOP with the same is outrageous ... not surprising, but still outrageous.
I don't know what goes on in Lancaster, but I live in San Francisco, and when a local politician says "there ought to be a law" in public, s/he is not just spouting off -- it is the prelude to a money-driven major media push to drive it into the city code before the general public has the chance to object.
It bears repeating: "What if it was a picture of Kerry and Polite was a Republican?" Even if Fox News Channel wouldn't have shown up, CNN and the other big three would have. The reason why we say this so often is because it is so often true, and no amount of criticism from the likes of Smart makes it untrue.
Mr. Smart's name is not eponymous.
Polite is NOT a pig. He is a Black Man "speaking truth to power"...
Outrageous, pretty much defines the Democrazies.
A point not yet made here is that an upcoming generation of journalists coming through the Lancaster Newspapers Inc. have to satisfy Mr. Smart.
Disagree with him and watch your career go in the tank.
As you can see from this article, he's often wrong, never in doubt. A passionate ideologue not unwilling to twist facts and blame the victim.
Your projection is stupefying, Mr. "Smart". FYI, I stopped subscribing to the Sunday News a long time ago thanks to tragic columns like yours...Lancaster's very own little Mo Dowd wannabe.
(BTW, is it just me, or is it mind-boggling to see how saturated with self-importance these pompous little local-yokel journalists are?)

I did not see this as an expression of victim hood. The picture did not come down, he demonstrated strength and stood up to a pathetic democrat party councilman.
This ordinary citizen REFUSED to be victimized. THAT is the thing of beauty.

The author is bitching because the coucilman was knocked down a peg, and the Lancaster area was threatened with economic retaliation.
The fact this author is enraged remains a sign this is a successful tactic and we need to continue this type of pressure.
