"Otherwise, it makes a violation of the provisions of this bill a felony of the second degree (15 years in prison and $10,000 fine)."

And, of course, depending on the amount of resistance, instant death.

I don't know whose, but somebody's going to die unneccesarily if this stupid anti-American, anti-constitutional garbage continues.

I guess it's time to write my State Representative again. The Representatives in North Florida are pro second amendment, but it doesn't hurt to give them a little reminder once in awhile.

The days of gun laws are long past. If detach mags are banned, only outlaws, tryants, and terrorists will have detach mags.

Best call this new Brady crap the 'Homeland Un-Defender' Bill.

Well, it happened here, California.

We still have a AW and magazine ban even after the sunset of the Federal Ban.

Flori-DUH was one of the first shall-issue CCW states.

Good luck with anti-gun legislation there.

It was the mayor of NY, Rudy who said after some people from Florida came to NY and shot people that Florida should get a Sullivan type law.
He of course would not help NY victims get arms to defend themselves.

Alabama's state constitution has its own version of the 2nd Amendment which is why I'm against rewriting the constitution at this time. I could just see our liberal state legislators removing it if its rewritten.

You should know better than to make a statement like that. The only way that we are going to keep this from snowballing is to make sure it goes no further, we need to send letters and e-mails against this to the people who will kill it in the state government.

I don't have any assault weapons nor do I have any magazines that exceed the 10 bullet max, at least not yet, they have not come down in price enough..

Gee, you'd think that they would atleast wait until the National Guard got back from Iraq to defend the capital before starting this crap again.

Has the violence spiked since the AWB was killed? I didn't think so. Next...

This bill will go nowhere.

However, we should still spare no effort in coming down on it like a ton of bricks, and maybe help give the demo-socialist responsible the boot while we're at it.

No way. And it'll never reach his desk anyway - the GOP dominates the Florida Legislature. All that's going to come of this is a bunch of wailing and screeching from the media when it dies in some committee.

"You should know better than to make a statement like that ..."

Why am I feeling like a third grader, being chastised by the teacher?

I said ..."Won't get off the ground." ... and I don't believe it will.

Just because some degenerate Dimocrat from Floridas left coast, who suffers from post election rejection, is about to propose, yet another, gun grab bill, does not make it passable.

Many of us, here in Florida, are members of the NRA, shooting clubs, and hunting organizations. We were aware and are aware of what these enemies of the republic are doing. We will be kept aware of these actions. We have contacted, or will contact those representatives, in the ever ongoing effort to ensure that our rights are not trampled upon.

You don't think this is anything new ... do you?

"I'm convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. Our ultimate goal -- total control of handguns in the United States -- is going to take time. My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition -- except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors -- totally illegal."

No I don't but it's never a done deal, and as long as there are liberal idiots out there it has to be talked up all the time.

The average person has no idea what an assault weapon is or what the ban was about in the first place, all they know is what they read in the local "toilet paper".

We sometimes forget that we are a minority and that most people don't know a thing about guns.

Sorry if it sounded like chastising..

Does this mean cops will have to turn in theirs too??< /sarc>

JSO [Jax Sheriff Office] just got some shiny new AR-15's, I'm sure they'll be willing to only carry 10 rounds in them to conform to the law.....

That's for sure, and most don't even read that, getting all their "news" from the old media.

The term assault weapon, in it's self, is a made up, bogus, boogey man name. For what is any gun, knife, stick, or stone for, but to "assault" someone, or something?

Chastising? LOL ... as long as I have been speaking through this keyboard, I have been chastised. I seem to have an inherent lazyness when typing, omitting necessary words that would make my point clear to all.

Were we speaking face to face there would not be this misunderstanding.

Hey ... to be chastised is not to be ignored. ;)

Thanks
