Some questions:

1. If somebody posts their nominations here, will the people he/she nominated be disqualified?

2. How will the nominee list be culled, or will all those nominated be listed for us to choose from when the voting begins?

3. Why the secret nominations process?

1. If the nominations are posted on the thread, they won't be disqualified - they just won't be considered.

2. All nominations will be considered. In the event that there are too many nominees (say over six in a category), the nominees will be culled by committee vote. That is why it is important that people elaborate on why they want a particular person nominated. Additionally, excerpts from the nominations will be used when presenting the (final) nominees for a vote.

3. Primarily because some FReepers can't behave themselves and we didn't want any flaming/dogpiling/etc. We are dealing with people here and the honor is great, so we wanted to preserve the beauty of it as best as possible.

Thanks for the answers. A follow-up, please...

1. If you get more than six nominees in a category, will you choose the six nominees who got the most number of nominations, or will there be some other qualifying (or disqualifying) factors that you consider?

2. If there aren't six nominees in a category, will you post all the nominees as contenders in that category, or will there be some other qualifying (or disqualifying) factors that you consider?

3. Will the committee add other names to the list of nominees if they think somebody got forgotten in the excitement of the nominations process?

4. Do the nominees who aren't winners get lovely parting gifts?

We strip naked, eat peyote buttons and channel Carol Dodo from San Francisco.

If you don't know who Carol Dodo is/was, you are in for a real treat!

Is that what you do for the losers, the winners, or to decide who makes the nominee list?

(And you're worried about Freepers misbehaving?)

Good evening. Glad to see more nominations coming in. This is great. Can't wait to vote for this year's nominees.

Quit being such a snark. A thread was posted asking for volunteers to this committee, if you were so interested in process, why didn't you volunteer?
