Bush Meets With Bush-Hating NAACP
NewsMax ^ | Dec 21, 2004 | Limbacher

Posted on 12/21/2004 1:47:11 PM PST by Tumbleweed_Connection

President Bush today had the first meeting of his presidency with the Bush-hating Democrat group NAACP.

You know, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the extremist group that called the GOP "the dark underside of American culture" and that ran a sickening campaign against Bush in 2000.

"It was a very frank and a very open dialogue," lame-duck NAACP boss Kweisi Mfume told reporters afterward. "We both have real differences."

The White House gave no description of the meeting/confrontation, but press secretary Scott McClellan said the president had looked forward to it.

"The president is always open to talking to people who want to work together on our common challenges and our shared priorities," he said.

Mfume last month sent Bush a letter congratulating him on his re-election and requested a head-to-head. The "surprise invitation" from Bush came late last week, said John White, NAACP's spokesman.

P.S.: Mfume, the Associated Press notes, once described Bush's black supporters as "ventriloquists' dummies." This from a guy who has long played a ventriloquist dummy for Democrat plantation boss Terry McAuliffe.

P.P.S.: No word on whether Sen. John Kerry had to pay Mfume to shill for him during the campaign, as was the case with Al Sharpton.

P.P.P.S.: Kerry never did keep his promise to meet with Gun Owners of America, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and other groups that disagreed with him.

I wouldn't have met with Mfume. I would have waited for the next guy.

One can only speculate on what Dubya's moniker for Mr. Mfume was.

I'm guessing 'Crazy Mofo'.

GW Bush is responding as any decent gentleman would. Fact is: Blacks have no politcal power whatsoever in Washington, DC. Hispanics and Asians rule the day. Until Blacks wake up and leave the Democrat "slavery" Party, they are going nowhere fast!!! As of today, the Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP are empty suits hanging out to dry.

Well, of course it IS accurate, but still.....not exactly something to quote from as a backup for facts. :-)

I saw Mfume interviewed recently. He has seemed to tone-down his vitriol towards Bush... must be 'lookin to run for office again.

What, and miss an opportunity to look presidential in front of Mfume? I'll bet old George had a smirk on his face during the entire meeting. I know I would have.

He was on a FOX show and had nothing negative to say about Bush.

I'm still waiting for IRS to dig in.

I seem to recall some recent story about Mfume actually being forced out of the NAACP because he was calling for the organization to begin reaching out to Republicans, specifically to President Bush, instead of automatically giving support to Democrats who patronize, exploit and take them for granted. If Mfume isn't out already, he will be soon. Haven't got time to dig up the details but I do recall reading this within the last week or two.

I believe Mfume was in dispute with Julian Bond, the president of NAACP. Mfume wants the organization to accept the fact that a Republican is in the White House and deal with it. Bond, more hardcore liberal between the two, rejected this. So, by accepting Mfume, Bush was playing "the lesser of two evils", "divide and conquer", and looked presidential at the same time.

It is idiotic to even talk to these people....They
hgave only one agenda and that is to discredit this
President who actually cares about people and is
an authentic person-- you can compare this with the
guy they all adore...Bill Clinton. So if I had my
druthers -it would be go catch a rolling donut...but
hell, I am not one to forgive and forget...and as
that old bullsh****..used to say..And that's the way
it is......Jake
