With Ohio inching toward a final recount that trimmed a few hundred votes from President Bush's six-figure margin, elections officials said electronic voting systems worked as promised. But critics were unconvinced.

With recount results reported in 86 of 88 counties Tuesday, President Bush picked up 438 votes and Sen. John Kerry gained 680, narrowing Bush's 119,000-vote lead by 242 votes, according to an Associated Press survey.

"If they can pick up 242 votes with every recount, find some absentee ballots that weren't counted (like in Washington state) they can turn this into a Kerry victory in only another 490 recounts"

By the time they have done 490 recounts, President Bush would have finished his second term and be happily in retirement in Crawford. :)

Canadian Border Patrol Chasing Down Illiberal Immigrants

Men's News Daily ^ | Tuesday, December 07, 2004

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The re-election of President Bush is prompting the exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, and agree with Bill O'Reilly.

Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota.

The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left. Didn't even get a chance to show him my screenplay." In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. So he tried installing speakers that blare Rush Limbaugh across the fields. "Not real effective," he said. "The liberals still got through, and Rush annoyed the cows so much they wouldn't give milk."

Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons, drive them across the border and leave them to fend for themselves.

"A lot of these people are not prepared for rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a drop of drinking water. They did have a nice little Napa Valley cabernet, though."

When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives.Rumors have been circulating about the Bush administration establishing re-education camps in which liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and renting all the good Susan Sarandon movies.

"I feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "How many art-history majors does one country need?"

In an effort to ease tensions between the United States and Canada, Vice President Dick Cheney met with the Canadian ambassador and pledged that the administration would take steps to reassure liberals, a source close to Cheney said.

"We're going to have some Peter, Paul & Mary concerts. And we might put some endangered species on postage stamps. The president is determined to reach out," he said.

If all other efforts fail, Canadian officials say they may be forced give the new liberal immigrants green cards and put them to work busing dishes in upscale Canadian restaurants.

Congratulations Mr. Cobb and Mr. Badnarick, you have just wasted millions of dollars in Ohio taxpayer money for this garbage. All so that Kerry could pick up a lousy 242 votes and now he'll only lose by 118,500 as opposed to 118,775. I hope that was worth it. You have accomplished nothing but piss of the hard working people of Ohio. And for all you DU idiots who had placed all your hope and prayers on this ridiculous farge, thank you for allowing us Republican Bush supporters the priveledge of once again watching you fail miserably. Watching Democrats fail is a very prominent past time of mine. In Closing, I have just one final thing to say to Cobb, the Liberterians, the Greens, and the hard core left retards at the Democratic Underground. HA HA!!!

They are not giving up yet! This is just more evidence of how big this conspiracy really is

Those idiots could watch every Ohio voter step up one at a time, tell who they voted for (assuming they told the truth), have the results come out almost EXACTLY the way the are right now, and they'd STILL scream "conspiracy", "people must have gotten threatened, paid-off, blah, blah, blah..."

As Bill Murray would say in Meatballs: "It just doesnt' matter... It just doesn't matter!"

What irks me about this is that Dem candidates ALWAYS pick up more votes. Has a Republican ever come out of a recount with a larger vote pick-up than a Dem? Anywhere?

That's because they're ALWAYS supposed to win, and they should've won in the 1st place! That's why they always end up picking up more votes! Any more questions?

The votes were counted the first time. Unless that is, that you mean all the ballots cast, even those illegal ones?

The Kerry campaign wasn't interested before it was interested. They are taking part in the recount.

Too bad for them they couldn't have brought in King County, WA officials to "search" for Kerry votes. They could have "found" over 150,000 "lost" Kerry votes in one county!

I've wondered that myself -- why do Dems always gain in recounts? I think it must be that truly unintelligent voters -- the kind who make elementary errors in casting their ballots -- are more likely to be Democrats than Republicans.

Surprised these dolts can even count that high. Can anyone image working on *re-counting votes*? I'd feel like such a dope.

"Ah... Mary is this a dimpled chad or a hanging chad?" Duh...
