Should make my tennis match in the hills tomorrow a real challenge.

Just thank God this isn't a 95 degree day in the summer or we would be seeing lots of fires.

Is there a particular reason they feel the need to yell when posting these advisories?

Is there a particular reason they feel the need to yell when posting these advisories? Yeah, so you can hear them over the wind...

You know, I think the winds might be higher...as the original warnings were for 100 mph....but I think the airlines told them to lower them.

well, the text is also used for a computer to read the warning over the air on the weather service frequencies...

plus, its a government thing to use all caps

Like I said, I'll be playing tennis in a pass between the hills. I'll drop you a post if the winds are bad.

The real bad place to be in wind is in the desert. The sand blasts the paint job off the car.

Could be worse.

Could be 5 below zero and windchills 20 to 40 below zero...like it is here...

WOULDN'T THAT MAKE IT A HURRICANE? Actually 73+ MPH is a hurricane. We get that all the time below the passes when we have a "Santa Ana" (or "santana") condition. (beaufort scale info) http://www.marinewaypoints.com/marine/wind.shtml

If you think 65 is cold in a stiff brezze, you'd die here tonight.
