From Sound Politics: The proverb goes: "Those that sow in tears shall reap in joy." Now that frequently lachrymose Paul Berendt wallows in rapture over the (perhaps temporary) success of his machinations, let the rest of us remember that election workers "enhancing the vote" turned the tide in this election.

The image you can see above is of a so-called "vote" that was recorded for Gregoire. Note that none of the bubbles on this ballot were filled in.

(Thanks to Mac at Pull on Superman's Cape, who provided the image, observing that a worker carrying an uncapped felt pen atop a blank ballot could easily create this "vote.")

PLEASE SEND THIS ONE OR SIMILAR IMAGES TO DRUDGE AND OTHER MEDIA

It would be even more impressive if there was a photo of "a worker carrying an uncapped felt pen atop a blank ballot".

I can see it. It's quite... amazing, to say the least. None of the holes are filled in, not even for any other race. There's a teeeeeeny tiny stray mark waaaaay to the left of Gregorie's name.

Mmm, no, but it's proof that they're being quite creative in canvassing the votes. I find it highly suspicious that Rossi lost 12 votes in a manual recount. In manual recounts, BOTH sides should gain votes... because there'll always be a very few voters that didn't fill in the circle completely or punch the chad out 100%.

But, the law is the law. Majority rule in a group of 3, two of which are very highly partisan Democrats, dictates what's a Gregorie vote and what's a Rossi vote. Most likely they "saw" teeny tiny marks to the left of Gregorie's name on Rossi votes and concluded that the voter's intent was to double-vote and invalidated the ballot.

The only way that our good conservatives in Washington (and California) can get relief is to split their respective states in 2.

Not a clear image. Also, different from the PA punch card ballots. What am I looking for. (precise location)

It's not clear to me what's going on with that ballot.

What would a legitimate vote look like? Are they supposed to circle the black mark to the left or what?

The optical reader bubbles are to the left of the names. You're looking for a bubble filled in next to Gregore's name, which would indicate a vote for her; you won't find one.

See the stray mark way to the left of Gregorie's name? They canvassed it as a Gregorie vote. See #11. Not quite fraud, but definitely dishonesty, and if I were the WA Republican party I'd be calling up any Republican canvassing boards and ask them to give the Democrats a taste of their own medicine...

Yes, but fraud is fraud. It should never be tolerated from ANYONE. It usurps the will of the people. It is akin to treason and should be treated as such.

The black series of marks are edge borders, guides for the machines. If you look closely you can see ovals beside the candidate names. None are darkened. This was not a real vote. Some worker, I suspect, added the stray mark to the edge of the ballot. If they didn't, if a voter actually made that mark, there's no fair way to determine intent, and the ballot should be discarded. It's too odd that there are no marked ovals anywhere on the page, and wouldn't someone so confused as to what to do end up circling the name? Further, should someone so confused be considered capable of voting?

The manual recount only brought more uncertainty as to the actual results of the Governor's race. The charade that is King County's election office can not be allowed to be the sole deciding factor in who becomes Governor. The only possible way for our State Government to maintain its claim of legitimacy is to hold a new election.

The GOP should learn from this and be ready to out-fraud the _____'ers next time. We are smarter than they are . We can do it easily.
