WASHINGTON - Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), who championed renewable energy in his presidential bid, yesterday said he won't take a stand on the proposed Cape Cod wind farm until the Army Corps of Engineers completes its environmental impact report next year. ``After this process is complete and the environmental impact statement is final, Sen. Kerry will make a decision based on the best interest of our state and our energy future,'' said Kerry spokesman David Wade.

Candidate Kerry in Santa Fe on Oct. 11, 2004:

"My plan will focus on finding new sources of energy," the Massachusetts senator said in a speech that focused on energy issues. "We will make clean coal a real part of our energy future. ... We will ensure that by the year 2020, 20 percent of our electricity comes from renewable sources like wind, solar, biomass or other options."

He forgot to add, "But not in my backyard."

Cut him some slack. After all, if you were the Curry wouldn't windsurfing and kite surfing be more important than cheap renewable energy for a northern tier state?

The hot air from Kerry's mouth could power several windmills.

Does any political party have an actual plan to end energy dependence? Can someone tell us what that plan is?

Well, as far as producing hot air and breaking wind, Kerry himself is a rich source of renewable energy and ought to be rigged to an electrical generator. He alone could produce enough energy to light a big Christmas tree, and heat a homeless shelter or two...

Teresa own the Cape house where they have a few SUVs hidden in the back. John Effin' owns owns no real estate there but he has a million dollar yacht he may moor there.

I'm opposed to it. I don't live near the cape, but I have sailed past that area and I think windmills would be a gigantic eyesore.

Then again, I don't pretend that we can solve our national energy problems with solar cells or windmills. We can't. At most they would add one or two percent to energy production. The only feasible alternative to fossile fuel use is nuclear power, and I doubt whether Senator Flipflop has the guts to support that.

Notice he says that he wants to wait for the Army Corps of Engineers completes its environmental report. But he doesn't say that he will take their advice. When they report he will stick his finger in the wind and listen to what the environmentalists say about the report before he commits himself. Also what his biggest donors say.

Not exactly correct...

There is Naushon Island.

But don't try to go there...it's ONLY for the elites!

---no, they don't--because any real plan for energy independence starts with the word or words "nuclear" or "domestic coal" or both---

Naushon Island....... His ex-wife was Forbes and Forbes family owns a lot of this island. John Effin' owns jack over there. Besides, there are islands owned by the super rich off of the Maine coast that are a lot nicer and less spoiled.

I was driving along today and a sqirrel ran out into the road, He started across the turned around then turned around again in the manner squirrels do. It reminded me if Kerry If the squirrel had gone on across the road he would have been safe but he couldnt make his mind up he was spinning around in the road when my truck went over him run over because he couldnt make up his mind, Same as John kerry in his run for President, Run over because he never copuld make up his mind.

The eggnog got to me..... you are 100% correct. Effin' is half Forbes, thus has visitor privileges at Naushon. I was confusing Forbes with the Thorne family he married into then divorced from.

This summer I was having lunch with a group of leftists. One of the leftist couples was from an area where wealthy Texans go to cool off in the summer. Another leftist leaned over and said, "Do the Texans eschew development at their summer places? Are the gas wells and oil wells permitted?" In other words are Texans elitists who practice NIMBY?

The western leftists said, with some surprise in their voices, "No, the gas and oil development continues around them."

The different between the Kerryist Left and the conservatie right.... The conservatives live their talk.

He's a politician. Well, sort of. I heard that one of his larger donors is involved with the MA wind
project. Hence, there is, or was, more to the expected ambivalence than what's than what we are
accustomed to.

Let Kerry wither on the vine like Kennedy and Massachusetts.

As long as they are kept in check by others, who cares if they, walk, talk, or breathe?

this is an excellent "wedge issue with the" LL's. they don't want any wind mills messing up the view or the sailing where there third and fourth big energy hungry homes are located.
If they weren't guarded by the MMS..the energy usage of such mansions would be underattach just like SUV's.

His supporter will say he is clearly waiting on the information to come in until he can make his decision. I agree with them, but I differ when I say that he will take no less than 10 sides to this issue.

I WISH President Bush had made this an issue during the campaign as he signed into law one of best "Renewable Portfolio Standards" as Governor of Texas. In the debates he could have turned to Kerry and said, "As Governor I talked the talk and walked the walk. You say you want energy independence and more renewables yet you won't show leadership in your own state. How can the American people trust you with the energy of our country?"

You give the LOSER way too much credit.

I predict that he will surround the issue with exactly six positions, none of which will actually answer the question with a YES or a NO.
