Thank you for your service. May we be worthy of your sacrifice. Referring to you Islamic culture marriage, I think the 11 states that passed the amendment claiming marriage is between one man and one woman is slowly growing aware of what is going on. I think it had very little to do with gays' marrying, at least for me, and more with tradition.(The slippery slope so to speak.) I've never been so aware of the threat to our existence, self determination and individual rights, in my life.

Ben Stein gets it.

Not only does he get it, he puts his money where his mouth is.

When I was headed for Iraq, my wife sent Ben a request for an autograph for me because she knows I'm a fan of his. That simple request turned into so much more. He donated stuff to our unit for our morale program out of the goodness of his heart. If he wanted publicity for his generosity, he'd tout it himself. But he doesn't, so I won't seek to embarass him by enumerating his great contributions.

He didn't just give of his wallet, either. He wrote and spoke with my wife many times, providing his personal support to her, which, in my mind, is more valuable.

He is a true friend to my family and to the military at large.

Ben Stein is a writer, actor, economist, and lawyer

Talk about jack of all trades

Not only that, but the professions are listed in order of credibility.

Huzzah, Mr. Stein! Yes our troops deserve every ounce of gratitude from their fellow Americans.

The last Saturday before Christmas, my Dad's side of the family got together at one aunt's house for our monthly gathering. My oldest uncle (the oldest one left, anyways), a veteran himself, made a point of thanking those of us who served. I'm proud to say that of 8 kids, most of my Dad's brothers are former military members and 2 of the sisters married servicemen as well. You won't meet any more humble, simple folk with an honest desire to do right in the world. Erm, OK, I'm a little prejudiced. :o)

Wishing peace and prosperity to our military wherever they serve!

Ben Stein **ping** and give a gander at post 25, my beloved offered a wonderful comment! But then I am biased.
