Wow!!! Is history every upside down!! Fact: the former Saigon government instituted a land reform program in 1970 that distributed-FREE-about 2,500,000 acres of rice land to about 800,000 formerly landless tenant farmers. Land tenancy rates went from about 60% to 10% in the Mekong Delta. The communists talked a good 'land reform' program but it was a hoax and cadre were told never, EVER, tell the people about collectivizing land. Why? It will make farmers mad that's why. Both rice acreage and rice production increased between 1965-1975 in S. Viet Nam. After the Hanoi idiots took over rice production plunged, and never equalled 1975 totals until 1985, after which severe malnutrition created high infant mortality rates. The myth that Hanoi-or Mao Tse-tug-or Lenin-"gave land to the peasants is whole cloth monumental deceipt. The opposite occurred. Guess what? I was a dove before I went to Viet Nam, the first time, and became what some would call a "hawk." Why? Easy, the communists are ruthless, lying idiots. Always were, still are.
The pictures were indeed from the movie "Journey from the Fall" produced by a Vietnamese American. Here's the website

Re your #74 -
Too bad it took direct experience for you to see the light - but thank God that you did!
If I might speculate, you might have seen and heard things over there that you "weren't supposed to" by use of your linguistic skills?
A lot of liberal toadies go on the Cuba tour, carefully orchestrated by Commie watchdogs so that they have no unsupervised contact with the "real" people and only hear the glorified Marxist line.
I doubt if many of them even speak Spanish.
Then they go back to their liberal college campi spouting all about how eutopic Komrade Fidel's little Shagri-La is.
I wish that Americans with your insight could go into colleges and share the hard TRUTH with our impressionable, indoctrinated Youth for a change.
A couple of years ago that would have been nearly impossible - but with College and even High-School Conservative and Patriotic Student Activist groups growing in otherwise Marxist dominated institutiouns, while courageously engaging in vigorous dissent, they might be able to get someone like you - a former Peacenik converted by reality - in as a guest speaker.
I'd expect a fair amount of disruption and intimidation from the usual usefull idiots, but i suspect that you are tough enough to deal with them.
You might check with Michelle Malkin as to how it's done, as she regularly appears in Colleges all over the US and is a Veteran of it all.
We need as many of you as we can get active, FReind!
