Yes, George Carlin was a talented comedian decades ago. But for most of my lifetime he has savagely attacked his nation and the Church he abandoned. No great loss if this sour old leftie kicked the habit of living along with the "vikes".

Hey, at least he got his addictions over to the conservative side of the pharmacopoeia.

Justin Wilson used to say when asked what color wine should be served with fish...

Don't matter. That fish don't know what color wine you're drinking.

Get well soon, George

F*** George Carlin and his drug problem.

He's a leftist @ssbag who has spent a lifetime making fun of conservatives with some of the most vile hatred. He was Al Franken before Al Franken. He's a nickel and dime comedian that appeals to aging hippies.

He can go O.D. for all I care. Him and that cokehead Franken

He is a bitter, bitter man and even though he is an extremely talented comedian that bitterness has virtually taken over his routine.

That is happening to many comedians these days

They are no longer funny because their bitterness has taken over

SNL is another example of that

When he had that rant thats the first thing I thought of. The man is on drugs or he would have found a better way of making fun of Vegas and the people from all parts of America and the world who come there to "throw away money".

His hatred of republicans and catholics drove him to this...another Blame Bush moment.

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES - George Carlin is entering a drug rehabilitation facility to shake his dependence on wine and a painkiller.

"I'm going into rehab because I use too much wine and Vicodin," the 67-year-old Carlin said in a statement released Monday by his publicist Jeff Abraham. "No one told me I needed this. I recognized the problem and took the step myself."

The name and location of the facility wasn't disclosed,

Carlin, who performs his standup comedy in Las Vegas showrooms and is the author of the best-selling "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?" on Hyperion Books, said he's never been treated in a rehabilitation facility.

"I know it isn't easy, but I'm highly motivated, and will do whatever's needed," Carlin said in the statement. "My levels of use are nowhere near the worst you hear about these days. I could easily have continued functioning at a good level for awhile, but my use would have progressed.

"I would have been in deeper trouble and I didn't want to tolerate that."

His acting credits include "With Six You Get Eggroll," "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" and "Jersey Girl" with Ben Affleck.

Actually, nothing explains his rant...

But, I am surprised that he hasn't had a little visit to the "on the wagon" house before.

They think they can't be funny without being bitter and "dark".

There are many ways to be funny without being derisive.

George Carlin is an honorable discharged USAF veteran. He began radio in Wichita Falls, Texas, after his discharge. His views have offended everybody at one time or another. He is humorous at times and at others just plain offensive. I wish him well, get off the stuff, and maybe he will have a rebirth and go back to the material that endeared him to so many of us that remember his first albums, FM & Am and Class Clown.

No, those are just the ones he is getting help for. The OTHER addictions are just fine, thank you very much. /sarcasm>

What goes with vicodin, red or white?

Beats me. Ask Rush.
