Floyd Elliott, Independence, MO., called Independence, MO Police to report a vicious "Hate" crime, December 14, 2004. It seems that two men attacked him, tying him up and carving the word "Fag" into his forehead and also burning the word on his chest.
Police became suspicious when investigating the crime as the word "Fag" on the man's forehead was backward (as if one was looking into a mirror when attempting to self mutilate.) The word on the man's chest was written correctly, however.
After further investigation, Elliott admitted filing a false report because he felt that the Independence Police didn't patrol the apartment complex where he lived often enough. Independence Police have charged Elliott with filing a false report.
Elderly female resident of the same complex, when told of Elliott's self-mutilation and false report, responded with, "What an idiot!"
Stupid is as stupid does.
What a terrible gaf.
Local Kansas City radio commentator suggested that Elliott be given the same prison sentence that the so called perpetrators would have received, after tried and convicted.
My very first thought, exactly.

I'd not be the least bit surprised to find out that Elliott headed up the ACT-UP Committee for Kerry for President.

I am sure that Dan Rather will remind us that we should be focusing on the "Hate Crime" aspect of the incident.

I swear I saw that coming. God, this would make a great Reno 911 episode. I can just see the one who wears the short-shorts... And the dippy, dark haired woman adding sorrowfully, "Hate is a terrible thing."
