Asia Earthquake kills 60,000 EXACTLY one year after Iran quake kills 26,000
me

Coincidence?

A massive earthquake in Asia unleashed tsunamis killing thousands, exactly one year to the hour after the Bam, Iran earthquake killed 26,000. What are the odds of two of the most destructive earthquakes in decades occuring exactly one year apart- almost to the minute!

December 26, 2003 - Bam, Iran, only 6.6 on the richter scale, but quake is centered directly under the city- 26,000 dead.

December 26, 2004 - Centered off the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the massive quake, which measured 9.0 on the richter scale, unleashed tidal waves across the Indian Ocean.

Coincidence? Well...yes. What else could it be?

I agree. But it does make one wonder... earthquake in many places. Men's hearts failing them for fear.

my only question is... if this is a spiritual conspiracy.... why isn't San Francisco under water?

49er's 2 and 13? another sign...

Buddists are in China, Japan and Korea, some temples in India and othe rasian countries, but India is mostly Hindu, as well as Malaysia. Indonesia and parts of Malay are mostly Muslim.

"However, the earth was not in the exact same position around the sun, as 2004 was a leap year.

One year would have an 6 hour difference in position.

Well, then you have to think about God having poor aim, and then you have to think about God therefore being either imperfect, not all-powerful, or both, and then you have to consider that maybe the quake and tsunami weren't messages from God to unbelievers, and that the deaths had no particular meaning other than to signify that tectonic plates continue to move as they have for billions of years, and then the heads of the FR religious nuts explode from the recursive illogic loop like someone in the movie "Scanners."

I guess it couldn't have anything to do with the fact that the majority of western Christians, just don't live on huge volcanic fault zones....

Not exactly. It has been ten months, roughly, since the extra day. So the variance would be 38/48ths of a day from last year's position.

I don't want to get flamed by my comments

Talkshows are taking lame call-in comments these days. But, put the same lame comment in writing for a 100 million websurfers to read anytime in the next 100 years makes such lame comments the subject of academic studies by sociologists.

26 Dec 04 - Indian Ocean Earthquake - 50,000 dead
26 Dec 03 - Iran Quake - 25,000 dead
26 Jan 02 - Gujarat Earthquake - 30,000 dead

Interesting, although the Gujarat earthquake seems to have been a month late.

I did a Google search for "December 26 earthquake" and turned up both the Sumatran and Iranian quakes. But it would be foolish to read anything into this coincidence. If God has a purpose in this, we don't know what it is. Providence moves in mysterious ways, as the old saying goes.

Definite coincidence.

Anytime a quake kills someone more than once is definitely a coincidence.

Anymore coincidences like this and we can call it the 2nd coming.

Sheese.
